There were about twenty of us in our group. We were greeted by Ken our host, after a coffee and the first decision of which lunch should we choose, we went out to learn about the vineyard. Ken was extremely knowledgable and interesting, on how he started the vineyard, how he learnt about the different types of vines and how... More

We visited because we were given a tour as a present. It turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. We were greeted by Ken the owner, he served tea and coffee then gave a comprehensive presentation and tour and then he helped to serve the lunch. He his what is known as "hands on" ! The information we were... More

We were given a voucher for a tour of the vineyard, to include lunch, as a Christmas present. We were able to choose from several vineyards and are so glad that we chose Old Walls. From the initial telephone call to book the tour we were impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff and were not disappointed when... More

A really interesting day, the owner relates back to when his family started in Devon , why he decided to set up a vineyard, how he set it up, a wine tasting and a really good lunch. All in all a good day out.

we visited for the first time today, having already eaten, but the food looked so delicious, we will be going back for lunch and a tour around the vineyard. The staff at this lovely family run vineyard are so friendly and helpful. Of course it would have been extremely rude not to taste a drop of wine, we then felt... More

Our visit had the added benefit of being accompanied by brilliant weather. The tour was conducted by Ken who, as the owner, was a mine of information and a really nice bloke - who obviously had a great passion for his "baby" - the vineyard. All the staff were very hospitable with a welcoming tea/coffee followed by an excellent ploughman's... More

We bought this tour at a charity auction and really enjoyed it, despite inclement weather! The owner gave an enthusiastic and very informative talk about all the processes. Wine was far nicer than we had expected having rarely tasted English wines before! Ploughmans lunch and cream tea was pleasant enough. Would recommend and would deffo pop in for coffee if... More

Greeted by the owner Ken, refreshments and paperwork done, we headed out to the vineyard, where we were told the fascinating story of how the vineyard came to be. Unfortunately the very blustery conditions drove us inside, here we learnt how the wine was made, bottled, stored and then graded and sold. We were invited to taste white, rose, red and... More

Ok so the wine is excellent. Brilliant in fact. But why not back it up with great food. Sandwiches made from sliced packet bread, half a handful of plain crisps and a tired salad garnish are not exactly worthwhile accompaniments to the excellent wine. Oh and the toilets could do with a thorough clean!

I was taken to Old Walls by a friend for my birthday. There was a free tasting of all the wines with the owner Ken who was affable, interesting and passionate about his products. All the white wines were good to very good but the surprise was the 2010 red which was excellent. We had food on the terrace with... More
