Le galion is the best family beach (ie for young children) on the island period. The water is still and you can walk uprig an easy fifty yards out. Itts also pretty easy to get to via car. Its better than pinel for families with young chldren because pinel, albeit beautiful, is harder to get to (you have to drive... More

Definitely enjoyed this beach - even with all of the kids running around. We never rented beach chairs or ate at the small beach restaurant. Instead, we brought our towels, found a spot in the shade and brought our own snacks. Water was shallow for a long way out. We will say that it was very quiet at the beginning... More

We showed up to this family recommended beach the day after an Easter celebration. I was very disappointed to see the amount of garbage and glass everywhere. It's sad. . Because it ruins the natural beauty. It's even more sad that there can be such a blatant disregard for the natural landscape. Empty bottles just tossed on the grass. I'm... More

We had a few hours to kill at the beach one morning and since it was close to our villa we chose Le Galion. Lots of kids and only one beach bar/restaurant to choose from. Picnic tables available as well as some large palm trees for cover if you want to skip beach chair/umbrella rentals. There was a TON of... More

This beach is very quiet and tucked away. It's apparently a favorite spot for wind surfers, which was a lot of fun to watch. There's a nice little cafe that said it had wifi. We didn't try to use it. This ended up being my favorite beach we saw because it's still very "natural" feeling and very beautiful. It was... More

Its like walking into a huge bathtub with sand. No waves just ripples perfect for those who can swim but are not strong swimmers. Loved it there.

We spent a few afternoons on Galion Beach. The water is very calm and clear as it is sheltered by a coral reef. There are chairs and umbrellas to rent, but we chose to bring chairs and sit under some shade trees. This is definitely a local beach so we suggest going during the week when it is less crowded.... Nicely protected so good for SUP and easy kayaking...close to Marine Park, shallow waters and warm blue water!

Little to no waves, beautiful sand, shallow clear water, affordable chair rentals, and decent food hut. I loved this beach and having a three year old, it was perfect. I was totally comfortable laying back and reading while she played in the sand and the water just a few feet from me. The water was so calm and shallow that... More

Pretty great beach away from the masses. There is a little bar there that serves good lunch and drinks at a cheap rate.
