Camped here for one week, having chosen the site because we needed to exploit our National Trust membership (and it's near Rye and the coast too); also attracted by the fact that it's quite small, plus the opportunities offered by the riverside location and the free wi-fi (I'm self-employed, and need to check my emails every day - and no,... I am disappointed that you have not entirely enjoyed your recent visit. In the week that you stayed, I did check in with you a lot and you seemed happy; I'm surprised you didn't feel that you could raise these concerns then. It's a shame you didn't use our boat hire or river cruise to explore the river, otherwise I... More

Lovely relaxing stay at Bodiam Boating Station. Lovely location and right next to the river with a great range of rowing boats, Kayaks and a brilliant ferry boat to the castle. Lovely food served throughout our stay. An all round wonderful experience and would recommend this site to anyone wishing to have a great camping experience.

I took two boys to the boating station this afternoon and we all went kayaking. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The kayaks were great and then we went to their cafe for a delicious hot chocolate and something yummy to eat. It was all set In a wonderful setting and it was all so well looked after. We... More

We recently spent just one night at the Bodiam Boating Station but wished we could have stayed longer. A very small site ( in a good way) -owners and all staff were charming and helpful. There is some minimal noise from the adjacent business but this is more than compensated by the fragrance of the wood being cut ! Facilities... More

We have just returned from a 2 night camping trip at Bodiam Boating Station. We would have stayed longer but unfortunately the site was fully booked for the weekend. Hopefully we can return next year. The camp site is very special - location yes next to a busy road but more than made-up-for with its riverside location and own mooring.... More

We bought a 2nd home in the area 4 years ago and have driven dozens of times past this place but today was the first time we've turned off the road and hired kayaks. We're so glad we did, and will definitely be returning with our children's friends! Like other reviewers, we found the owners very very helpful and friendly.... More

hired a canoe with a friend.. I had done a little canoeing and my friend none at all but we managed to paddle up and down the pretty river getting better as we went. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We turned up early but it was no problem and we thought the £12 for an hours canoeing for... More

Lovely boat ride from picturesque Bodium castle to Newenden in the cutest little boat chugging along glorious riverbanks for 45 minutes, the owner even let the boys steer, then we rented two row boats for a couple of hours and refreshed with a grande cream tea before taking the boat back to Bodium. A really great day out.

Brought our own kayak here and for a very reasonable £5 fee we were able to use the sites river pier to launch from. We were told by the owners of the Bodiam Boating Station River Run Challenge, basically paddle the 4 1/2 miles to Bodiam Castle and the 4 1/2 miles back again in the quickest time. So we... More

We are both in our 60s and camped for over 40 years. This year we have camped in Denmark, Germany, Holland and Wales. This is the worst campsite we have been to in 40 years. 40 years ago I camped in a farmers field in mid wales with a few doors tied together to make a toilet hut..this was not... More

Sad and confused to read your review and from reading it, I can't quite pinpoint what made it the worst campsite you've ever stayed at. Yes, we did put a sign up about a broken door. It is not always possible to fix something that someone else has broken at the exact time that it is broken, but to prevent... More
