We used Bodiam as a geographically well-placed campsite from which to base a wine tour (on bicycles). They were very accommodating and the location was spot on, with a pub only a stone's throw away and a picturesque setting. The cafe area is a stylish and good-looking place to have breakfast or lunch in keeping with the surroundings. It was... More

We're so pleased you loved it here; it makes all the hard work really worth while when we read a review such as yours, so thank you very much. We've just closed (sadly) for the season, and fingers crossed, we'll be starting building works shortly. Please do remember us next year as we'd love to see you here again. More

We stayed a tee nights at bodium and thought it was great. We have stayed in a few camp sites in the area but this is by far the nicest! The staff are great and nothing was ever a problem for them. The activities with boating and swimming in the river gives it a uniqueness over all the others. My... More

Thank you for your review and I'm delighted you enjoyed it here so much. Hopefully we're well on the way to starting our big build to put to rest any issues with the camping facilities; we met with a potential builder today, so watch this space! More

We camped for 3 nights in August and were very nervous first timers. As soon as we arrived, the warm welcome made us feel better at once! The size of the field was great as the children all played together in the middle and we could keep an eye on them. We made use of the fire pit hire which... More

Oh my! Was that you with those m'mallows! I remember them well; they put ours to shame and I will endeavour to hunt them down! So pleased we had the privilege of accommodating your 1st camping trip ... and that it went so well. You'll be pleased to know that our neighbours have found a solution to the noisy vehicles... More

A lovely place to hire rowing boats, really helpful team when setting off and returning to the hire location. Some good picnic spots quite close by in great countryside. Buoyancy jackets provided looked quite new, boats in good condition, easy parking. Enjoyable afternoon

Camped here for one week, having chosen the site because we needed to exploit our National Trust membership (and it's near Rye and the coast too); also attracted by the fact that it's quite small, plus the opportunities offered by the riverside location and the free wi-fi (I'm self-employed, and need to check my emails every day - and no,... I am disappointed that you have not entirely enjoyed your recent visit. In the week that you stayed, I did check in with you a lot and you seemed happy; I'm surprised you didn't feel that you could raise these concerns then. It's a shame you didn't use our boat hire or river cruise to explore the river, otherwise I... More

Lovely relaxing stay at Bodiam Boating Station. Lovely location and right next to the river with a great range of rowing boats, Kayaks and a brilliant ferry boat to the castle. Lovely food served throughout our stay. An all round wonderful experience and would recommend this site to anyone wishing to have a great camping experience.

I took two boys to the boating station this afternoon and we all went kayaking. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The kayaks were great and then we went to their cafe for a delicious hot chocolate and something yummy to eat. It was all set In a wonderful setting and it was all so well looked after. We... More

We recently spent just one night at the Bodiam Boating Station but wished we could have stayed longer. A very small site ( in a good way) -owners and all staff were charming and helpful. There is some minimal noise from the adjacent business but this is more than compensated by the fragrance of the wood being cut ! Facilities... More

We have just returned from a 2 night camping trip at Bodiam Boating Station. We would have stayed longer but unfortunately the site was fully booked for the weekend. Hopefully we can return next year. The camp site is very special - location yes next to a busy road but more than made-up-for with its riverside location and own mooring.... More

We bought a 2nd home in the area 4 years ago and have driven dozens of times past this place but today was the first time we've turned off the road and hired kayaks. We're so glad we did, and will definitely be returning with our children's friends! Like other reviewers, we found the owners very very helpful and friendly.... More
