A forty to fifty minute horse drawn carriage ride takes you into the Roseg Valley famous for its luxuriant Alpine vegetation. During the approximately five mile ride you pass lots of physically fit young and old Europeans enjoying the hiking and picnicking options. The view also includes lots of Alpine vegetation, Swiss pines, larch wood, cows and the ever present... More

Being Swiss, I know: there are very few hikes as beautiful as hiking 1 1/2 hours into Val Roseg. You will see why.

Late August weekend with perfect weather. Great day to enjoy horse drawn carriage ride into the Val Roseg from Pontresina and we walked back (about 2 hour walk). Reserve the horse carriage ride, as you don't want to miss (+41 78 944 7555). Gorgeous scenery: forest, fields, stream, falls, mountains; all breathtaking. Photos can not do it justice. A great hike from Pontresina. A few hours in duration and a nice reward in the form of the dessert buffet at the Hotel Roseg Gletscher! If you are staying in Pontresina--you should definitely consider taking this hike

We have hiked and skied up into the Roseg Valley many times. Always lovely. Go all the way up beyond the restaurant to the face of the glacier for a great experience.

This May was very wet and cold. Out of six weeks, we had 1 sunny day and 2 days without rain. Each time I go to Europe, I hike Val Roseg. We started off with umbrellas and walked past the horses who pull the carriages. As we walked, the rain stopped. We did not see any other hikers - just... More

you can choose to hike/walk up or take the horse sleigh, a bundeled up in blankets. The little bells on the horses' neck chime with each step they take - it is so romantic! When you walk, you can often spot chamois or caparicorns. plan to take binoculars along!

Work up early on a sunny day and decided to walk up the Roseg valley. It was very peaceful, saw wildlife and dodged the house carts! Definitely worth the effort.....
