If you have time on your hands and want to be more informed about food, this is a good place to go. Quite varied in the type of exhibits, it has something for people of all ages. Some machines give out chocolates for you to taste :)

If you know anything at all about food, you will learn absolutely nothing at this museum. It is really just an advertisement for Nestlé (which is headquartered nearby). And not even a very good advertisement (Nestlé really should be ashamed - this is not a positive promotion of their brand). We love food and love to cook. And love Vevey... More

We have visited this museum several times. Our children when younger enjoyed the interactive exhibits. These days we enjoy the various displays and the exhibitions which change every few months but we also have a go on some of the interactive exhibits ourselves. The museum has its own restaurant and as one enters through the kitchen garden one can see... More

Unless you're working on your thesis on food, you might find this a little dull. We took the audio guide, but stopped listening to it after 15 minutes. It had some interesting information, but it was too boring to have to listen to all of it to glean the interesting info. I enjoyed looking at the cooking utensils and pots/pans... More

I got the feeling that Food is just an excuse to advertise Nestlé company. It was raining and we where with a couple of friends with a son who's 1 year old. As it was lunch time for the baby, we went to the restaurant (self service) of the museum to get 4 drinks and sit on a table to... More

There is lots to do. The exhibits are interactive and educational. Four floors of food history and food processing and nutritional education. The gardens outside are amazing. They had artichokes that had gone to bloom.

Very nice museum with many interesting thing, pictures, information and interactive games and tests. Good for adult as well as for children. For example machine gives you some pill and you have to recognise right taste. We spend there over two hours.

There's a changing temporary exhibition and also permanent exhibition, all based on food: history, nutrition, trade, etc. Many aspects of the museum are geared towards children with interactive points and workshops. Many school come her. True, it is run by the local food industry company in an attempt to be cultural and social.

The Alimentarium is a museum about all aspects of food as consumption. Simple but convincing exhibits about packaging, changing consumption patterns, food production. One hour workshops in a fully equipped kitchen under the guidance of a real chef. Children until 12 are welcome in the Junior space; starting at 9 kids can participate in adult workshops. Museum entry for free... More
