Great motorway with extraordinary views. Some atmospheric restaurants/bars along the side to enjoy the view with a drink. Definitely stop at Eggen (Egga) for a 3-4 hour hike to a rather unknown glacier but very nice one.

This was our first time bringing our car on a train. Very cool and highly recommended :) We were on our way to Italy so it all worked for us and even the price wasn't too steep.

Coming North from Italy from the lakes, a fantastic drive through gorgeous Alps past old stone cottages and classic Swiss clean architecture, you can stop at the peak, walk and photo, then on the way to Brig, stop at the wonderful Hotel Canterwald, there Henry and Karen taking over from their parents serve the best coffee ever plus the world's... This is a short distance out of Brig, where we made base for a few days. It is amazing to see the road constructed up the mountain. It had several construction areas that even big trucks have to fit through what seemed impossible confined spaces. We only wish there were more pull outs to look down the valley & village.... More

We drove this road going from the Swiss Lakes to Italian Lakes, you do not realise how high you will be going whilst driving through Visp and Brig, but soon you feel like you are on top of the world, but if you are scared of heights this is can be a white knuckle ride, the views are amazing if... Used Simplon pass in August on the way to and from Italy instead of Mont Blanc tunnel. Although the narrower road, and the works, it is worth every km. Sunrise on the way, breathtaking views of Valais on the way back. Would be nice to pass riding a moto

Just a few minutes from Brig on the train and we were in a little known part of Northern Italy. Historic as all Italian towns are and with the option of exploring the valley of a thousand valleys. A few miles away in Domodossola we were able to enjoy a beer in one of the bars in a square at... More
