This is a really cool excursion hidden in the small town of Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. Not being familiar with the area, and honestly a bit confused by the Tamina-related web sites, I hope my experience will help the avg globe trekker. The easiest place to grab the bus is the bus station. You can take more than one bus to... More

Getting to the gorge is really easy if, like us, you don't want to do the 4km hike from Bad Ragaz. Take the 423 bus from the post office (hourly each way) and you'll be there in a few minutes. Be aware that the usual transport ticket will not be valid, and you will have to buy a special ticket... More

After a day at the spa take the post bus to the original old Tamina Bath and hike into the gorge. It's an eerie feeling to be almost closed in by the mountains above you. Taste the original war mater from the therme in the mountain. We went for a great hike across the natural bridge and up to Pfaeffers,... More

We visited the Tamina Gorge on a beautiful day and hiked both up and back. It is a very well kept road but it is also the road the bus uses so you have to be careful when the bus is coming because some parts are only wide enough for the bus. It is quite steep in parts and about... More

A beautiful place to visit. I would definitely advise hiking up rather than taking the bus. The hike is about 4km and follows the stream with many beautiful waterfalls. We did it in about 45 minutes. If you chose to take the bus, its only a 10 minute walk inside the gorge.

Despite the fact that the gorge is not very long (1/2 km), it is very beautiful and mystical. The Tamina river washes out the river bed by 1 cm per year, so that the cliffs are quite high, sometimes they come together at the top, so that one has the impression to be in a cave. At the end of... More

To get to the gorge take bus 423 from bad ragaz . It only takes about 20 minutes to get there. It costs 5 Swiss francs to see the gorge - make sure you take some coins as the gate is not attended.
