We visited this site as part of our Viking river cruise on the Elbe River. We walked much of the site and then enjoyed a gondola ride to see areas not to be seen when walking. Breathtaking. The English-style gardens are gorgeous. It is clear that the staff takes special care with the upkeep/maintenance of this site. Seeing the various... More

I read a review of a British couple who didn't take the gondola as the view would be the same. Big mistake! If you take the gondola you see different area of the park and get some explanation and it will definitely increase the value of your visit! We also visited the palace which was nice to see too. The... More

Enjoyed our morning tour of the park and gardens. Highly recommend taking the gondola ride as well. Be sure to have a guide so you understand the history and Prince Franz's intentions in establishing the gardens for the public to share.

We loved the extensive gardens complete with peacocks. The gondola tour is the way to go here in good weather. You will glide thru leafy glades and get a bit of serenity the place is designed to inspire.

I probably expected too much from this visit as it has been hyped up somewhat. We live in South Yorkshire and having easy access to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire amongst many other beautiful sites. Because of the raving reports I expected similar but was hugely disappointed. On entering the park you pass a beautiful church which is picture postcard stuff.... More

I made a bike trip with my friends from Lutherstadt Wittenberg to Wörlitz in summer. I think Wörlitz is a very nice place to spend some time, there are interesting buildings as well as beautiful park.

Not to be missed if you love beautiful parks and gardens! We visited this on our way down the Elbe on a Viking River cruise recently and loved it in spite of being there on a cloudy, misty day. Worlitz goes back over 1000 years when Prince Franz the Duke of Anhalt-Dessau wanted to create gardens for his people to... More

UNESCO World Heritage Site , well worth a visit. We went during March and walked through deep snow drifts in the gardens and grounds......incredible and still a magical worth while experience. I am sure during warmer weather, the gardens would be even more beautiful. The interior of the 'castle' was also very interesting and was an enjoyable visit. Our Guide... More

I'll begin by stating that our group had advantages not every visitor there has. We had a guide who escorted us as we strolled through the beautiful grounds in addition to a guide in the castle. Plus, the picture perfect weather we enjoyed enhanced our experience even more. This said, the beauty and tranquility of the English Garden style park... More
