Lots of lovely places to have a hot chocolate and cake. Some interesting shops but make sure you look up and around at the architecture.

Nice city and nice buildings, I like it but there are many tourists and a lot of wine stores and souvenir stores.

Just over the bridge from the center of Cochem is the Senfmeuhle. The make great mustard that you can taste before you buy. Worth a visit if you like mustard.

Probably the only complete medieval square remaining in Cochem, the rest being broken up by more modern development. That is if you call just a century or two old, 'modern'. Complemented by the wonderful onion church tower (completely rebuilt after ww2 bombing), the understoreys of all buildings have been redeveloped as a modern shopping and eating precinct, so you get... The historical building are wonderful. Cochem is only a small town but is worth a stop off on your journey along the Moselle river. Splendid timber framed houses, tasty cafes, and reasonable shopping. Take a walk in the back streets to savour the narrow timber framed streets.

The buildings in the market place are in the centre of town. There is a photo opportunity at every angle, it is a very beautifut town. The glockenspiel operates at 10am, 12 noon and 2pm. Also a great place to shop for chocolates, cakes and local breads.

We went into the shop to buy mustard as a gift. There was a lot of choice and the kind staff let us taste several options. Sadly the entire pot is finished and it was so good, regular supermarket mustard is no longer an option. So be carefull ;-)

Cochem has a Beautiful market square and historical backstreets. Many small shops along winding allys. The traditional square is quite small but there are many different places in Cochem to see traditional architecture and indoor/outdoor eating establishments. Cochem just seemed like a great relaxing place to explore.

Yum, Yum, Yum! Unfortunately, we missed the tour and had to leave town before the next one started but we still got to sample all the different mustards and jams. The gentleman who helped us was beyond nice and patient. We wanted to buy a lot more than we did, but we tried to control ourselves. I was particularly impressed... More
