As the title says, plus the fun off climbing out onto the wing of a jumbo jet which is probably 60feet up in the air on a pole & then coming down by a helter skelter. Definitely fun for most of the family especialy of the male persuasion. :-)

Drove the 90 mins from Frankfurt and spent all afternoon at the museum. Worth every penny of admission. Space, nautical, automobiles, motor bikes , trains and aircraft tastes are all catered for in great detail. From The Boeing 747 to the Fairey Gannet and an example of an ME109 and a widow maker are all well preserved and many allow... More

When I went to Germany, I have travelled to Mainz, Köln and other cities and this is one of the places that I have visited. I liked the experience and I could see a big plane from Lufthansa, cars, items from Nasa and more. I recommend to people that like technologies.

Something for young and old, plan at least one entire day or come back multiple times. There is an abundance of cars, trains, airplanes, machinery, boats and and and. Many hands-on experiences for kids. And if you like it , drive about an hour west to Sinsheim, where the sister museum has even more

A stunning variety of exhibits - especially exciting for anyone who likes planes. Where else can you walk into a jumbo jet installed as if it were just climbing out and turning after leaving a runway, stroll on its wing, and crawl around the luggage compartments? Where else can you visit a Russian space shuttle prototype (Buran), and then squeeze... More

Aircraft from every era are displayed including the Russian equivalent of our space shuttle. Lot's of hands on as well as cockpit visits. The car and rail collections are awesome. Be prepared to spend some time here if you want to see it all; and it is worth it! If you have kids, it's a must see.

This is one of 2 technik museums, the other is near the Hockenheim race track around 25km away. There is a real wealth of transport exhibits ranging from a partly disassembled 747, a couple of U-boats, many fire engines, cars and motorcycles and a space shuttle! Many of the exhibits are 'hands on', including the 747 where you can wing-walk... More

What is more fun than walking up several stairs into an airplane that is positioned as if it is in flight and then sitting on a burlap sack and going down a slide to exit the plane? The answer is that if you are at a museum, nothing is. The collection of vehicles in this museum is amazing. If it... More

We took my grandson (8) and her son (15) on a daytrip to Speyer to visit the Technik Museum. Since both boys had an interest in all things mechanical we figured we could entertain them here for an hour or two. Were we mistaken! Having arrived at 10 am, we ended up having lunch on site and staying until we... More

The Boeing 747 displayed 100 feet in the air caught our attention from the town of Speyer. You could climb up a metal staircase to a platform below the 747. Then another set of stairs to get into the plane. You could even walk out on the wing which moved in the wind. Many other things inside and outside. A... More
