A nice church in the middle of the town

A Catholic church located in mid-town market. The church has a beautiful altar , but also some wonderful paintings. Must see!

St Severus is a beautiful church right in the heart of Boppard. Well worth a visit (free). When I was there, the door was open for a visit. I stayed at the nearby Hotel Hubertus and the church bells ring even in the middle of the night, so if you're accommodation is close to the church it might be wise... More

If you like to visit churches and cathedrals when you travel, this is worth a visit because the architecture is different from the norm. Striking both inside and out but don't expect to see a lot of stained glass windows.

You can see this lovely church as you approach Boppard. Most churches in this area are reddish brick, this one is stark white. Only a short walk from the main train station, it stands in the middle of town in the main shopping zone. Inside it is a peaceful, quiet respite from touristy Boppard. The aroma of frankincense is heavy... More

The church is an oasis in the busy tourist centre of the town, very peaceful. There is a pleasant open air café, and it isn't far to walk to the river walk.

The church is colorful, both inside and outside, and full of beautiful art. While the architectonic form is rather heavy and the verticality out of proportion with the horizontal dimensions, the overal color scheme maintains a formal unity in the building. Especially the stained glass windows in the gallery on the right are worth looking at. Interesting is the fact... More

this church is very simple and poor. Its situated nearby a marketsquare and an giftshop. Nearby is also a shoppingstreet. But that street is not recommended by me.

Visit St Severus - a beautiful Romanesque church in Boppard. An ancient Church on an even more ancient site. Sit and enjoy the peace - or be lucky and be there when the organist is playing. the magnificent notes soaring upwards to the heavens above. Some wonderful stained glass, particularly the more modern windows. And bells - if you are... More

A beautiful old church with wonderful stained glass windows, right in the centre of the village. There was not a charge to enter when we were there. The steple can be seen far away from the village and was beautiful at night

We didn't have much time as we were with the coach, so got a leaflet from Tourist Information in the Marktplatz, and went into the nearby St Severus. It is a very handsome building, with lovely windows. Glad we went inside to look round.
