We were passing thru on our way to Zurich and stopped here to visit the old town. First though was the harbor which is to the south of the Rhine river joining the lake. It was November so there were no boats out to look at but that was OK. The revolving statue on the end of the pier stood... More

The best way to get to and from Friedrichshafen from Konstanz is via the Katamaran. Boats run every hour, take about forty minutes, and cost about 10 Euros each way (in October 2015). The boats are comfortable, with plenty of seating, and a bar. They’re relatively quick, and stable, but aren’t really all that high-speed. Much faster than the regular... More

Konstanz Harbour is busy but there is always somewhere quiet to sit and watch the activity of the people, the boats which come and go frequently and find a bite to eat. When we were there we came across a brass band playing to commemorate 10 years of the launch of one of the boats, even free birthday cake was being... More

Konstanz harbour is a beautiful area for a quite family walk. On a sunny day, the beautiful view on the lake and the mountains behind make a wonderful corniche to a pleasant stroll. There are foodstands offering the famous Bratwurst. Tasty and greasy.

We went to Konstanz for a few hours because we had a spare day. It was really boring to be honest. Don't make a special trip here.

It's always nice visiting Konstanz and one of my highlights always is the harbour. It's very nice for a walk and the scenery is beautiful. If you visit Konstanz take some time to enjoy it.

There are son many ferries departing from here around Lake Constance that choosing which one to take is the hardest part. I recommend getting one of 'Erlebniskarte' travel cards which allow unlimited travel for a certain number of days.

The big, 22 years old "IMPERIA" rotating statue at the entrance to the harbor is a fine, suggestive work of art about the Council of Constance from 600 years ago. A big, sexy courtesan is keeping a rather minuscule emperor, nude with only its crown to be identified, in one of her rising hands, and an equally minuscule pope, also... More

A beautiful harbor with a very excellent view. Loved it. Completely enjoyed visiting the place. A lot of shopping areas within walkable distance.
