We arrived around 11 and joined a huge queue they were so busy that they didn't give us any information on the site or even a map we had to ask for one! Once walking through a random dark room there wasnt much to look at it felt a little empty. Just a tram line, so we hopped on the... More

excellent day out - very good value for money. Great value for money as a day pass entitles you to admission for a full year - think it is £18 per adult (works out cheaper for family tickets) Definitely worth the money. In the warmer weather it is worth taking a picnic as there is quite a few places to... More

My son and family live nearby to Beamish and took us there for a visit. Must say I was dubious at first. February is not the best of times to visit an outdoor attraction. It was cold but in a way it added to the experience. Nipping into the houses, bar and restaurant to warm up seemed natural. Rides on... More

Make sure you give yourself a full day to see all the various areas of this open air museum. The option to buy a season ticket very reasonably to go often especially if you live nearby is a good deal.

Winter visits are limited - only the pit village and the town were open today. It was a lovely day though and a fine place for a power walk. Walking round is just on two miles. I would recommend the cheese scones and coffee in the town's coffee shop!

Great place to spend a day. Just a bit worrying though when lots of the items on display are familiar to me. I can remember using a lot of them. Guess that's what happens when you start getting old!

Love a trip to Beamish for a great day out. Loads to do from merry go rounds to trips down the mine! Ride the trams and watch the old fashioned sweets being made. A great day out for families.

perfect day out for all of the family, great to go on the trams around the museum. We enjoyed the ice skating also. Although there is a lot of walking involved it was perfect as we could use the free transport when we were tired.

Went to the Beamish museum today. Excellent day out lots to see and do, even on a windy and slightly wet February afternoon. Tickets are for the year and we will definitely be going back. All of the staff are happy and pleasant and have a great knowledge of the exhibits and take the time to explain. They seem to... More
