P.S. Be aware that for some obscure (or French) reason the gardens close on the... More

Well worth the effort. Very steep incline all the time. No flat bits at all. Very varied and I would imagine beautiful at all times of the year. Fabulous views all around

Not often you visit a botanic garden perched on the side of a steep hill. This had good views to go with the selection of plants from around the world. Free entry, decent exercise, nice waterfalls and good views. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Samoens

Walking around town we were intrigued by the iron gates and sound of water running. It was so hot we couldn't venture too far as it is a steep slope but liked bit that we saw.

Tucked away on a hillside at the back of town, this lovely garden is home to alpine plants from all over the world. A fairly steep path winds up the hill, passing through areas displaying the flora of each continent or region. It is all very naturalistic and many of the plants are labelled. From the ruins of the chateau... More

Beautiful botanic garden, draped on a mountain slope. A must see for those who love flowers and plants. For others still a beautifull site with beautifull vieuws.

What can you say? It is free. There are great views over Samoens. Expect to take half an our or so going up though it is quite steep.
