Fantastic area to ski. Huge choice of runs, fast lifts and lovely mountain cafes. It was spring snow but it was easy to pace the runs to get the best snow through the day.

If you have some knowledge of cycling or skiing you've probably heard this village name. The famous serpentine road to A d'H that ends one of the Tour de France legs with a + 1000m climb and the cruel countdown at each of the 21 curves. This is the 3'rd village in the alpes where I've been skiing during winther... More

We visited Alpe d'Huez in mid April so we were expecting spring conditions. The runs were icy in the morning, slushy in the afternoon and many of the lower runs were closed. Best conditions were found at the top. This is all as you'd expect for April. My complaint is that while a large number of pistes and lifts weren't... More

We went this winter which had long periods of no-fresh- snow, but still had many different pists to choose. The ski instructors of SSF were fantastic & always new to suit the right area to the conditions and weather.

The Alpe d'Hues Ski Domain suggests wide slopes with multiple lifts at heights over 1860 m that saves beautiful snow till April. The slopes just near the town are very wide and not very steep for beginners and middle level skiers. The masters of skiing can find a lot of more steep slopes at higher levels up to 3300 m.... More

Very large ski area, great off piste, powder was awesome. The lifties were lovely and I felt at home the whole time. Empty slopes at the end of the season which were fab. Le Spot, the best apres burger this side of the Atlantic.

Moving around the resort is very easy. You can ski from one area to another or take ski lift. You can also take traverse lift from the village to slopes so you don't have to sit in the busses. Slopes are generally in good condition and there is lot of variation for different type of skiers.

We went in a group of 5 girls aged 29-43. Stayed in a crystal chalet that was adequate and central above the Sphere bar. Snow was great but the links and queues let this resort down. However loads of bars and now the Follie Douche is there a perfect mix for party people.
