Well, it is a Roman Bridge. Watched two flash Frenchmen with their girl-friends pull up in a Ferrari and a Porsche. They took a couple of pics then roared away. 10 mins in all. Can't have been worth their time. But the bridge goes well with the rest of the town.

This bridge is still standing after nearly 2,000 years and is an amazing sight. It connects the new and medieval sides of Vaison la Romaine across a gorge and if you are in the area, don't miss it.

Can you imagine a bridge built centuries ago that is being used today by cars and trucks and that survived a flood that destroyed a bridge built to replace it? That is the Roman Bridge. Lovely.

My husband and I packed a picnic and walked from our apartment to a picnic site on the shore of the L'Ouveze river. This is a wonderful place to spend an hour looking up to the Haute Village and to the Roman bridge. after lunch we hiked through the medieval village to the "castle on the peak. The bridge is... Amazing to think that this bridge, used by heavy traffic every day is some 2000 years old. To think that it was fully immersed in water during the floods in 1992, as it is about 60 feet high

This is an interesting site. The old bridge from the Roman era is in remarkably good condition. It's not the kind of place that you would detour out of your way to see, but if you're in Vaison-la-Romaine, you can fit this into a full day's walking tour of the town. In fact, if you plan visit the medieval city,... More

What an fantastic experience to view this bridge and know all the history that has taken place here. I never cease to be amazed as I travel through France at the heritage left by the remarkable Romans. Cross the bridge which joins the contemporary town to the medieval old town and walk up to the top of the old town... More

How can anyone not admire this wonderful feat of Roman Engineering, a single span bridge that is still used by modern day traffic and survived. To get a really great view its best to get down to the river level and admire this bridge from below and then you will truly understand why this bridge is so amazing.

The fact that I stumbled upon it made it quite the surprise, when I saw it! I will even say that it was an emotional experience. Such a breathtaking view! In fact, Vaison-La-Romaine in itself is breathtaking!
