If you cannot cycle up this mount go by car the view from the top is spectacular and seeing the challenge of cycling up this mountain with increase your respect for the riders on the tour and all the hundreds of amateur rides you will see giving it a go on your way up. Best to go up on side... More

A group of us were driven up to the top as part of a bike tour and dropped off. Even in mid October it was cold and foggy. We all glided down a few kilometers and then enjoyed the sensational views of the valley. Went from moonscape to lush. We spent hours going downhill and exploring the area.

We drove from Vaison la Romaine and this is a must do for all. The view is breathtaking! Brante is a wonderful village to visit on the way. Just remember to pack a little something to put on as it is much cooler at the summit that I anticipated.

We are staying in Malaucene, touring on motorcycles. The mountain is there to be ridden! It's easier with an egine than without but hats off to all those who do it under their own power. The roads are wonderful but watch out for cyclists that get it wrong on a fast descent. We came around a bend to find one... More

Great cycling for hill climbers or flat road riders. Very busy with many riders of various experiences. Top the mountain met by many spectators cheering on every rider. Varying weather conditions add to the fun and camaraderie.

Mont Ventoux was one of those happy, unplanned destinations on our trip. We drove up it on our way back to our B&B in Vaison-la-Romaine after a full day of sightseeing in Provence. Our waiter at the restaurant where we had lunch in Roussillon recommended it to us, and we are so glad he did! The views are dramatic, as... More

Mont Ventoux is an awe-inspiring and famed climb. it is reachable by car and motorbike as well as by bicycle. Well worth doing just to see what these bicycxle racers have to do. But there are also great views over Provence from the summit.

A cycling Mecca.. And a great drive for the non cyclist.. Made even better that there are a choice of routes to go up or down, all arriving in pretty Provençal towns. If your driving you need to pay attention to the cyclist, often in small pelatons that take up most of the road, but more importantly to the ones... More

A huge cycling challenge with iconic views. Descending can be trick depending on winds and traffic. Ascending can be tricky depending on weather and fitness!

We went in April 2014 and went up the mountain. It was freezing, literally, even though it was sunny and warm below the mountain. It was zero degrees on the summit and we were not prepared for the cold!
