I have cycled up the Ventoux three times now and it truly is a local landmark. Go up there on a clear day and you can see over 100 miles in every direction. You can see Mont Blanc, the Alps, the Mediterranean and so much more. There is a café/restaurant and souvenir shop there. Parking is limited as you would... More

In the region we stay in you can always see the mount Ventoux. Some of my family concerred it with the bike. As do most people who are here for a biking holliday. But be aware of the weather. We left our house with 29degrees to pick up the cyclers. On the tol you had no visability, the wind was... More

It's an easy drive to the top where there's plenty of free parking, a restaurant, snack bar etc. It's 13 km from Malaucene and we ate lunch there after having coffee at the top. The road is wide enough to overtake slow cars and/or cyclists. We must have driven past 100 cyclists seeking to achieve their goal. Respect!! There is... More

Driven to the summit of mont Ventoux 3 times now and it never ceases to amaze. The views in all directions are breathtaking. Make sure you pick a clear day to visit and have some warm clothing to hand as the temperature can drop by 20degs. Don't miss this on your next visit to Vaucluse

We hired road bikes and attempted the mountain at around 11am. Firstly, don't underestimate the mountain. The first 6km is fairly easy, but the wooded section is hard. There are km markers telling you the average gradient over the next km, which stay around 9% for most of this section. Once you reach Chalet Reynard, you've seen the last of... More

My two teenage sons and I hired road bikes and attempted to ride up from Malaucene. It's a 21km climb that rises 1911 metres in elevation. The climb up takes a reasonably fit person 2 - 2.5 hours. My boys reached the top though I stopped about 60% of the way up due to the strong head wind. Apparently it... More

Naturally everyone's impression of different places can vary. All I can say is, if you are anywhere near, you must visit. The views are so fantastic, words cannot do them credit.

Outstanding and a nightmare at the same time. A nightmare because we drove up on a summer Saturday morning when every road bike owning Belgian in the world was either going up or down the mountain. So, I drove 26km up from Sault and then 16km down to Bedoin in a state of unrelenting concentration trying to not kill Belgians... More
