This is a beautiful sand beach that is worth allowing your bare feet to experience. The small shops in town are varied and worth a look. We had a drink outside at one of the beachside restaurants that was well worth the view .

While staying in Saint-Remy-de-Provence we decided to go on the flamingo trail. The tourist office directed us to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and the drive took us through some beautiful countryside. Saintes- Maries was well worth a visit as it had the look of a Mexican town about it and the beaches looked fabulous. Late September, however, wasn't quite the time for spending... More

The beach is beautiful, wide and sandy. Although there were lots of people, it was not too crowded because it is so wide. This place is known for the strong winds that blow, but was not bad the day we were here. Unfortunately, the toilet facility by the beach was dirty and disgusting. The town has lots of restuarants, but... More

At Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer you will find beautiful sandy beaches which are parted with big rocks. There are beaches on the left as well as on the right side of the harbor.

When we visited the south of France we had the chance to spend some time in this location and we were positively surprised. The beach was very clean, easy to reach since there was plenty of parking space (free) wide walkways and also bike trails. They start by the port and stretch for many miles. The cost is deviled in... Loved the beach, not at all touristic, very simple, family oriented, clean. Children and families were running around, laughing playing. You can just be yourself. We had such a wonderful time. The sand is soft and lovely.

We rented bikes and went riding along the coast for over 6hrs -- the weather was great, we highly recommend heading west when facing the sea, there are many different trails through the swamps, perfect for bird and nature watching. the main trail that goes along the beach will take you to the dunes and the "Etang de Beauduc" and... We took the bus from Arles to Stes-Maries de-la-Mere. The drive was through marshland and cereal growing fields. The notion of seeing the 'wild' side France was exciting. Pink flamingos, wild bulls, nasty boars and even nastier mosquitoes. Nature lovers rejoice! Then you reach the white washed,spanish-feeling, seafront town with acres of white horses and black bulls at its doorstep. Its like... More

This beach is not like the others in Provence. Not so azur. Send is black and water is quite cold. There are no showers on the beach. But it's nice, in the city centre, water is shallow. You can walk around the park of Carmarque. I think this beach is great for children.
