I did not swim, but the beach was decent and easy to access from the town center. Supposed to be a topless beach 3km to the East!

Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer was just beautiful! The beaches were lovely and there were many fantastic restaurants overlooking the water. There were also many wonderful small shops offering locally made items including wine, salts, herbs, and soaps. Would have loved to have been able to stay longer.

Been going here for years. Great family beach where you can do all the be achy things you need. Close to the main town; parking can be very close if you're early at 4 euros. Toilets facilities are not good though - use the restaurants when you're there.

Nice beach with a very smooth sand. It wasn't so crowded even in August. The water was pretty cold in comparison with other areas, but you get used to it after a while. Ah, and nice sea food restaurants right on the sand

While staying in St. Remy de Provence, France my husband and I decided to explore the Camarque National Reserve on the Mediterranean. It was an easy 1 1/2 hour drive using our trusty GPS zoned in on the little town of Saintes Marie de La Mer which is located on the tip of the reserve. On the way through the... More

This is a pretty, fine sand beach. It was clean and a great place to put our toes in the Mediterranean for the first time. It seemed very family-friendly. The water was chilly but nothing compared to the Pacific ocean off California. There are a couple of outdoor showers for sand, but we did not see any bathrooms. Parking was... More

The beach is well cared for. There are opportunities for boating and fishing. The town is designed for capturing tourists money, but still has a decent somewhat authentic atmosphere. The town can't detract from the unusual scenery and birds, including the famous flamingoes. There is a protected regional park nearby, but it is difficult to visit.

We went to the Camargue on a trip Riviera Travel and what a beautiful little place Saintes-Marties-de-la-Mer is. We only spent a couple of hours in the area before travelling on but could have spent at least half a day - very very picturesque and a lovely beach area.

This is a beautiful sand beach that is worth allowing your bare feet to experience. The small shops in town are varied and worth a look. We had a drink outside at one of the beachside restaurants that was well worth the view .
