My wife and I experienced a memorable day tour with Olivier in 2011 and I booked again with him to take me and two of my adult daughters in July 2015. His detailed knowledge and his respect for the history communicated so articulately combined to make this another great day. A visit to the Somme is must for all Australians... More

What a wonderful Day!!Olivier sent all all the info we needed to meet up with him in St. Quentin, about a one hour train ride outside of Paris. He drove us around the Candian Battle field sites explaining every detail, he was informative and yet concise. nothing was missed

The one day tour of the Somme with Olivier was definitely a highlight of our 10 day trip to France. Olivier is a superb guide and host. Knowledgable and thoughtful, he was excellent company and conversationalist as well as historian. Our teenage son thought Olivier and the tour was "awesome, worthwhile, and wholeheartedly recommended". Having stayed in Paris a few... More

We booked this tour with Olivier Dirson and were not disappointed. He has a wealth of knowledge and the enthusiasm to impart that knowledge. Through is eyes and words and fabulous iPad trench maps we were able to get a feel for the French countryside as it must have been in WW1. He was able to take us to my... More

Wow, what a day!!! We did the 8 hour Australian Battlefields Tour. Olivier picked us up from our hotel in Saint Quentin and took us on an emotional journey back to an incredibly sombre time. His knowledge of the area and history is nothing but amazing. I cannot recommend this tour enough, it was really an extremely touching day but... More

Travelling the roads between Villers Bretonneux, Pozieres, Albert, Mouquet farm, Peronne brought the pieces of the battles together and the sequence my understanding of what was achieved over time was brought together. Olivier was very professional and knowledgable. On the dashboard, he had the old maps loaded on his tablet so that we could see that we were on the... More

We did the one day Somme battlefield tour with Olivier and it was fantastic. He picked us up from our accommodation in Camon and we were the only two booked for the day so we had our own private guide. Olivier is so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter it is astounding. We saw so much during the day.... More

I can only reiterate the five star reviews are completely deserved. As an Australian I was moved to see the sacrifices made by these soldiers to defend our democracy but also saddened/angered by the senseless loss of life. Olivier is an outstanding, knowledge guide. He fully tailored our tour so that we visited the memorial of my husband's great uncle... More

Olivier did a fantastic job taking our small group to Australian and New Zealand sites of significance in ww1. We visited relatives memorials/graves. He has a fount of knowledge and was able to answer questions about where our relatives would have been serving. Take the details about relatives that you have researched and cemetery details. Thanks for pickup and drop... More

We booked the 1 day tour with Oliver, he is a walking encyclopaedia on World War 1. We learned so much from this one day, When we go back we will be booking the 3 day tour. It was worth every cent. Thank you so much Oliver.
