The day of our visit was ruined by chilly winds. Though we did take a walk on the beach, but it was difficult to spend more than ten minutes there. The sand and the water are clean but ofcourse we could not enjoy any of it. Highly recommend checking the weather before going there coz I suspect that on a... More

Excellent beach. Water is safe and clean despite being so close to the ferry terminal. Great views to England and during the summer months you might even have the chance to see a Channel Swimmer arrive.

Go for a walk on the beach or just park on the side when the weather is cold and eat your sandwiches. A nice little stop.

Calais beach is along the main promenade. One thing I did notice is that it is very clean in that there was no litter left about. It's nice to sit & watch the ferry coming into the port. The beach at weekends can get very full ,not just of tourists but the locals who have a family day out. Some nice little... More

If you enjoy ferry-watching this is a good place to be. Regular Tai Chi classes also take place here and are good to join in and to watch. There are wide open spaces and a long esplanade offering views along the coast. Some of the facilities are a little run down or old fashioned but there is enough variety and... More

It was not hot, it was not cold - just beautiful colors you wanted to catch in a picture. Some ships were leaving the shore for another country, some old couples were walking on the beach. There was nothing special, but I did like it.
