Simply wonderful

The architecture of this church is amazing and the windows should not be missed. If you get there when the choir is practising even better.

The Cathedral is impressive by its sheer height. The main attraction, however, is the magnificent astronomical clock. It is a must to attend one of the explanatory show explaining the history and the workings of the clock and to see the mechanical figures in action. There are several 20 minute showings daily. If you don't follow French, they usually have... More

The 'cage de verre', the glass cage this building is called, and with good reason. A truly astonishing cathedral, that challenges the concept of 'dark middle ages'. In the summer there's a spectacular light show projected against the south facade. Stupendous!

The city's cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais) is well worth a visit. Its has beautiful stained glass windows from the 13th, 14th, and 16th centuries. Obviously being a church its free to visit BUT it is worth spending an entry fee to see the astronomical clock. It dispalys the times of the rising and setting sun and moon, the position... More

As the highest gothic interior it is mind-boggling - no wonder it has to be propped-up and tied together. The guide books DON'T emphasise that there are fabulously beautiful modern stained glass windows in the lower parts of the chancel.

This cathedral which unfortunately was never finished still remains the tallest gothic one in the world. Pretty impressive inside. But its gem is the very sophisticated clock which is still functioning today. There is only one like this in the world and it is in Strasbourg. I highly recommend you to stay for the show when all the characters come... More

The most beautiful thing in the cathedral is the astronomical clock. It's an amazing clock. Unfortunately the cathedral is not in a good shape

Built by a mad bishop who wanted to outdo all other cathedrals in the area. It's claimed that Notre Dame would fit inside it. It really does take the breathe away no matter how many times one comes upon it.

This is such an impressive gothic cathedral dating back to the late 1200's, in an unassuming town, definitely worth seeing
