Beauvais cathedral is certainly worth a visit but not sufficiently tourist oriented. All captions and notes to items to see are only in French when having in German and English as well would help. If going to Beauvais do not fly via its airport! Lacks seating and what there is, is all metal! Toilets are disgusting and many had never... More

Wonderful examples of renaissance, gothic and Carolingian architecture. Also less crowded than other churches if a similar calibre, if you're staying in Beauvais the cathedral is a must. They have a timeline, only in French however, which is an aspect that could be improved, but it is exhaustive and details the history of the cathedral, along with architectural notes and... More

Having seen a program on the cathedrals in the region, I chose Beauvais. I knew that it housed an astrological clock with moving mechanical figures, depicting the Last Judgment. The cathedral itself has suffered throughout history - the French revolution, fires, collapsed towers, world wars, but is still standing. It is being restored but the work is being done with... More

Wonderful cathedral, if a little bit off-putting seeing it held up with timber structures! Home to the world's oldest chiming clock and a spectacular astrological clock/machine! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Cathedrals are my passion and I had the notion that this one's only shallow fame was being the tallest one but being nearby I had to go. Now despite only part of it remaining after the collapse of the nave, it is one of my favorites. The play of light, the atmosphere - it is more than just tall. The... More

Very nice and well worth a visit. The best attraction in the town ,beautiful building. There is also a little museum opposite which is also free entry and it is nice for a look round.

This cathedral is certainly worth seeing. It has two fantastic clocks which certainly grabbed the interest of my two children. At the moment there is scaffolding taking up the whole height of the nave which stops you getting a really good view.

Absolutely brilliant sound and light show at 11p.m. projected on to the facade of this stunning cathedral. Amazed how little advertising there is about it... we saw it on the bbc in england last year and i vowed to get to see it. well worth the overnight trip, only 2 hours from the Tunnel.

I arrived in Beauvais after having visited Amiens. I had a plane to catch so I had one afternoon to spend in the city! If it hadn't been for the plane, I would have missed an important monument! The cathedral is a splendour! Even if unfinished, it is imposing, being a wondrous example of Gothic architecture! As far as the... More
