A great art gallery, not too large, interesting with some really excellent pieces. Main exhibitions change often enough to create a reason for visiting often but the permanent exhibits of Picasso's bowls are lovely too. Great to combine with the Saturday market and other galleries and shops in Ceret.

A very good permanent exhibition of works by artists associated with the town and environs - including Picasso. These are very interesting, but the museum always excels with its special exhibitions, this year featuring Jaume Plensa, a Spanish sculptor and designer of large-scale works for public spaces. And it's not so big that you get overwhelmed by the number of... More

The Modern Art Museum takes pride of place in the centre of Ceret on one of the town's main streets; take a stroll along the boulevard lined with towering plane trees and you will easily find your way to its doors. The museum is small, small but perfectly formed. For those, like me, who are often daunted by the prospect... More

The only thing worth visiting Ceret for is the museum of modern art which rightly deserves it's excellent reputation. Parking in the town is a pain, but if you've spent any length of time in the area then you will already be used to spending your first hour of any visit looking for a space. Once you have secured your... More

The standard collection is interesting as well. But Jaume Plensa, an artist from Barcelona did it for us. Not only his sculptures are on exhibit until November 15, but als the 1 hour documentary can be seen completely in the auditorium hall.

A fascinating museum featuring many artists who have passed through Ceret and nearby Collioure, some famous names such as Picasso, Chagall and Dufy, others less well-known like Kremegne and Brioules. There is a remarkable display of bowls and plates by Picasso who decided that the world of ceramics needed his attention: they are apparently novice works which aroused excitement given... More

The collection of paintings includes work by Picasso and Chagall and there is a lot of pottery by Picasso. The outstanding feature this time was an exhibition of installations and sculptures by Jaume Plensa - stunning!

This is a wonderful small museum. It is a region that has been steeped in an arts tradition since Impressionist days and the museum does an excellent job of displaying great works from the past mixed in with those of today. It is worth a trip--plus the town is quite charming, as well!

A friend recommended we also visit Ceret during our weekend getaway to Perpignan. We took the 1 euro bus to this quaint, medieval town, not knowing what to expect. The idea was to buy cherries. Instead, we found ourselves enjoying a visit to the permanent collection of this small but lovely museum. A temporary exhibit of Israeli artist Danny Karavan... More

If you enjoy modern art then this is well worth a 1/2 day before an agreeable lunch or dinner in the lovely medieval town. The space is clean and quiet and the exhibits are well curated and displayed whether elements of the permanent collection or the seasonal installations. There is an auditorium which, on the two visits made to date,... More
