A friend recommended we also visit Ceret during our weekend getaway to Perpignan. We took the 1 euro bus to this quaint, medieval town, not knowing what to expect. The idea was to buy cherries. Instead, we found ourselves enjoying a visit to the permanent collection of this small but lovely museum. A temporary exhibit of Israeli artist Danny Karavan... More

If you enjoy modern art then this is well worth a 1/2 day before an agreeable lunch or dinner in the lovely medieval town. The space is clean and quiet and the exhibits are well curated and displayed whether elements of the permanent collection or the seasonal installations. There is an auditorium which, on the two visits made to date,... More

We spent a great hour or so wandering around the lovely collection which includes a fabulous collection of Picasso ceramic and pottery. The kids area was fun at the end.

We were fortunate to arrive in Ceret on the first day of the JAUME PLENSA The silence of thought exhibition. Our 11 year old was less than impressed at the idea of going into an art museum but in the end admitted that she had enjoyed it. Even though we're not knowledgeable about art, modern or otherwise, we appreciated his... More

We visited this museum on Saturday afternoon, the town itself was lovely and buzzing but this museum was deadly dull and almost empty both of people and art. There was a reduced entry price of 3 euros 50 but even still it was overpriced for 3 small rooms with staff members who followed you around so you felt uncomfortable even... More

This a quality art space....with so much that is good about the amazing history of modern art movements on display, many of which originated in this area. The gallery/museum is undergoing extension work at present so not all the works are on display....

When we visited half the museum was closed (which led to a reduced price) but we really enjoyed what we saw.

11 days in the area and one wet one. Kept the visit to the Musee d' Art Moderne for the wet day for obvious reasons. I expect to be challenged by Modern Art - and I was. The exhibition space was good and it should have been a pleasant way to pass an hour on a wet day - but... More

I loved everything about the museum - fabulous art, enthusiastic staff and the many artist's interpretations of Ceret itself. A must for Picasso lovers. Unmissable!
