Beautiful views

Loved strolling along the cobbled streets and feeling as though you are walking back in time. Lots of cute shops and cafes near by. Some are a bit touristy but still lovely.

The citadel offers fantastic views of Calvi and the surrounding area. Entry was free, and the walk up wasn't as arduous as we expected. Recommended if you're in Calvi

This is a must-see in Calvi. There are evening concerts in the Church at the top of the Citadel. Be sure to take a flashlight with you as the way down is not well lit at night and there are lots of steps and uneven pathways.

I spent a couple of hours wandering the around Calvi with my camera and it was great to escape the bustle of the city by climbing up to the Citadel to enjoy the views across the rooftops and harbour. You get a good sense of what it must have felt like to be a soldier high up on the battlements,... More

This is a beautiful ensemble and one of the very best in Corsica. The churches are lovely and all the alleys have great charm. It is a great place to take a meal. I loved every second of the experience.

It's the heart of Calvi. We loved walking around the cobbled streets, each turn of the corner is a surprise, another lovely view or colourful window shutters or a charming restaurant tempting you with their delicious food. Do wear flat shoes though ladies walking on cobbles is not recommended.

Picturesque and interesting with some nice restaurants. A steep climb on a hot day but worth it for the fabulous views !

As others have said the Citadel is far more impressive viewed from a distance, I would rather pay a small entrance fee and feel that the area was being protected and looked after than looking a little dilapidated. The views are good and it is worth a visit but close up it is not particularly impressive.

Visiting Calvi's Citadel is akin to walking within the pages of a mysterious medieval novel. With a picture framed view around every corner of each alleyway it really is a must see so make sure you have plenty of memory available in your camera! It's also really worth visiting the baroque style church in the centre of the citadel and... More
