The Calvi Citadel is home to one of the French Foreign Legion's Helicopter regiments. It is a powerful looking monument at the end of the village of Calvi. This is a must to visit. We saw the supposed house where Christopher Columbus was born. (This is also claimed by three other cities!) The palace of the Governor and the church... More

Picturesque and quaint place with spectacular views across Calvi. Highly recommended at sunset or at early morning when the sun isn't too strong! Easily accessible for most age groups, but wear suitable shoes for cobbles!

Well worth following the viewing signs which are numbered as the sights you can see are well worth the walk - not recommended for those who dont like steps.

Although we did'nt opt for the guided tour its easy to follow the numbered signs on the 'Tour de St Antoine' along the ramparts, with wonderful views back down to the harbour and lower city. If you wonder off the beaten track (even in peak tourist season) i quickly found myself alone on quiet cobbled streets seemingly unchanged for centuries.... More

There is not much to do in Calvi if you are not a beach person. This was a great place to walk around and see some amazing views and take great pictures. There are some cool spots to take unique photos and walk around. This claims to the birthplace of Christopher Columbus but some articles I read debate that. It... More

Interesting to wander around, lots of historical buildings and great views. A numbered trail is available with an audio guide( didn't get the guide) to tell you about the history.

One of the ports we visited whilst on a 22 days Adriatic cruise. Beautiful place and outstanding views very picturesque. This place biases the birth place of Christopher Columbus and after looking in all the alleys we were able to locate it and it was ruins with no plagues nothing. This was disappointing better signs and directions to locate it... More
