The citadel is cute, nice to see but there is nothing really special to it and it won't take you very long to see all of it.

We loved this place. If we could choose anywhere in the world to live it would be here! The harbour was quaint and relaxing, with children fishing off the end of a wooden pier.Local restaurants preparing to cook the catch of the day! Life slowly plodded along as we sipped a coffee watching the world go by.Bliss!

A bit of a hike up but wonderful views from every angle. The walk can be a challenge in some stretches for walking challenged people: stairs, cobble stones, and incline/decline narrow pathways. The walk up will depend on how many viewing syops you make and how long you spend in the church and military museum. The cathedral is very interesting and... More

The view of the Calvi Citadel is quite impressive when seen from a ship. We enjoyed wandering around the narrow winding streets which gave equally impressive views of the ship. If you arrive on a cruise ship, a visit to the Citadel is a must.

Cruised here in October and had to get a tender boat over to shore from the ship. Lovely quiet costal town with nice harbour with restaurants and lots of little souvenir shops (quite pricey though) walked up to the citadel- lovely views but beware as very uneven cobbled paths and lots of steps. Walked over to the big granite rocks... More

You could spend quite some time looking around the Citadel. Narrow streets wind around and there are several steps to manage in places. Lots of interesting buildings especially the churches to look at and several shops, cafes and restaurants. I believe that Lord Nelson lost his eye here when attacking the fort.

Worth the walk, beautiful views, old city walls and historic fortification. Some nice shops and restaurants along the way.

We stayed in an hotel nearby so we could just walk up there. It's nice! You can walk around the walls and see the city from up there. The view is nice. There are not many restaurants in the citadel. There are real people living there making tourism and day to day life to live together. The church is nice.... More
