I really wasnt sure about how I would feel about this experience. Elephants are powerful animals and seeing them submit to humans I thought would be hard for me to watch. These elephants are mostly rescued from logging, other elephant parks that are abusive and circuses. What I feel really stood this camp apart from the others is that there... More

This is Woody's own business, and it's clear that he cares about his staff and his elephants. Participants get to ride elephants bareback, feed elephants, bathe elephants, and ride elephants through the water. Not all elephant excursions offer all of these activities. However, Woody doesn't have a lot of resources to take care of his animals. If you don't want... More

I had high expectations for whatever camp I would go to and this one totally exceeded them. Everyone there is so friendly and they care about the elephants and are very good about controlling them. I always felt safe and it was so incedible being able to be close with such big, beautiful animals. I hope I can make it... More

Since arriving in Thailand we wanted to do a tourride on an elephant. Starting in the south we heard we had to do it more op north, because you've got a better surrounding. So after arriving in Chiang Mai, we were looking around for a tour and we saw Woody's Elephant training. So why not a whole day? Getting to... More

I was advised by three of my friends to go to woody's mahout training and so i did without much expectation. I am so glad i did, this camp only do a maximum of 12 people as they say it is not good for the elephants to do more. They care more about their elephants than they do money, and... More

A friend of mine recommended this elephant experience to me, based on the fact that they treat their elephants well and the amount of time you actually spend with the elephants. She was right and I would recommend this to anyone. The only "minuses" are that I was alone and did not get my own elephant (this is minor, but... More

I visited Woody Elephant Training with my husband and my brother and his girlfriend. We had an absolute blast, and the elephants seem to be treated really well. We started the day by being picked up at our resort at 9 am. They had picked up one other couple before that. By 10 am we were at the elephant camp.... More
