We visited the Villa Romana in June 2014. At the time it cost 2 Euros each but there was a notice saying that it was going up to 4 Euros in July. If you are interested in Roman history and/or have some spare time in Desenzano then visit. You could go round it all quickly in 30 minutes as it... More

I support all the positive comments made about this place. It won't take long to get around - in fact, much of it can be seen from the outside - but the video (in English) is very enlightening, even though I did tease the staff about the information around the site being 'only' in Italian and German - so watch... Unpretentious museum, but interesting to walk around the site - an Ancient Roman villa - not far from the centre of town

A small but interesting site close to the centre of town; very worthwhile and tremendously helpful staff who went to great lengths to run the explanatory DVD in the English language for us

If you have copy of passport or proof of age over 60/65 you can get into most museums reduced price or free. Shame no part of the villa was still standing but just to see a small part of Roman history was amazing after 2000 year+ . Did not spend a huge amount of time looking around. Boards in Italian... There is not much left from the villa, but it's good to see small piece of ancient history. There is a short introduction movie prior entering the villa available in several languages. Entrance is 2E.

Entry was just €2 each and the woman at the ticket desk spoke excellent English. She suggested we take some time to watch the videos about the villa and lake which they had playing in the next room. They were very informative and available in most languages which really helped as most of the information boards around the site were... More

Great mosaics and so much colour. Pleasant hour or so can be spent here in this Roman venue, and the villa is stunning.

Seems not much visited but it should be. Several layers of mosaics, in a large villa which seems to have had a huge dining area. Video and small museum good, but the main boards outside are in Italian and German, but not English, so we didn't quite understand the full picture - but the mosaics are brilliant.

A Good way to spend an hour with interesting extensive mosaics outside. There was an informative video to watch which was in English to give more background. Small indoor display of artifacts.
