We had a two hour guided tour of Volterra. Annie was a highly dedicated guide with thorough knowledge of Volterra. Her passion for the city made the tour very interesting, also for the children. This tour was worth every cent!

This has taken me a little while to write up - sorry Annie! We got married in Volterra in July this year and I contacted Annie after seeing other positive reviews on this site. As well as doing tours in and around Volterra, Annie and Francesco also do wedding planning. From the start, Annie was helpful, friendly and responsive to... More

On our recent, all-day tour of Volterra, Annie achieved the impossible: in our group, made up of two families, she engaged and entertained the children, while sharing her in-depth knowledge and love of the medieval town with the adults. For the six children, Annie provided lively stories, quirky facts about life in past centuries and a fun-filled scavenger hunt. During... More

Annie took a group of 6 of us on a 2-hour walking tour of Volterra and every one of us enjoyed the experience and were glad we did it. Annie is American, so it was easy to communicate with her. She showed us sites, explained the history, and took us to an alabaster studio where we had a bowl made... More

I have had the extreme pleasure of accompanying my husband to Volterra on three occasions with the David McGuffin Exploring Europe tour company. The last two times, we were privileged to take a tour with Annie Adair. Our time spent with her was a definite highlight! Each time she provided us with wealth of new knowledge. She supplied lots of... More

After spending the day running along platforms and up and down steps to catch trains and hiking across train stations and airports looking for buses, all while carrying luggage - in a drizzle; we were dragging when we got to Volterra. Drug our luggage up the hill to the hotel; then it was time for the walking tour of the... More

Our guide, Andrew Kidd went the extra mile to show us the true "essence of Italy" on this tour with David McGuffin's company!! Highly recommended!!

Hi Donna, thanks so much for your kind words! Just for clarity for the readers, I want to mention that your trip guide, Andrew Kidd (who I hold in very high regard too), does not work for Tuscan Tour, but for David McGuffin's Exploring Europe, the company that brought your (wonderful) group to Volterra as part of the Italy trip... Annie is the best tour guide! We could have never learned so many interesting facts about Volterra without her as our guide. She was one of the highlights of our trip! A "must do" when visiting Italy!

As a part of a small group tour of Italy, by David McGuffin's Exploring Europe, we stayed three nights in Volterra. Scheduled on the first afternoon was Annie's Walking Orientation Tour of the village. Annie is profoundly passionate about this Tuscan town and its 1000+ years history. As a teacher myself, I could not stop imagining her as the most... More

As one of the "paths-not-taken" in our lives for both Francesco and I was to join the teaching profession, we are immensely flattered and honored by your words. THANK YOU!! Annie Adair & Francesco Gronchi More

My wife an I have traveled quite a bit, and are all too familiar with both the large-as-possible-with-microphone group tours, and the individualized tour that is little more than a human reciting a recorded spiel while walking past monuments. Now that we have a 5 year old, it seemed unlikely that his attention span would last for either of these... More
