Turns out both my son and the Hilton Grand Vacation Borgo Alle Vigne each recommended Annie Adair. We thought we missed the Villa tour the night before but it turned out, they had not received an update from Annie she had added another noonish tour! Hooray for us. While we weren't promised a private tour, it ended up being 4... More

I can't really say much more than what everyone else has said - Annie is one of the best tour guides I've ever heard. She brought this little town to life with her knowledge of history and the passion with which she told Volterra's story. I was near tears as she spun the tale of the townspeople saving the historic... More

Annie is unbelievable! Imagine the enthusiasm of your favorite college professor, coupled with the best story teller you've ever heard. Annie is amazing in telling the history of Volterra from the Etruscans to the heroics of the townspeople in WWII. Her tour was part of a Rick Steves tour of Italy and it was truly a highlight.

Annie and her husband were the perfect guides for experiencing Volterra and learning more about the Etruscan period - I learned more on this tour than I did anywhere else in all of Italy, (with the exception of the Vatican)! Annie's passion and knowledge for this city are unmatched - she's an absolute gem! Her husband is a sommelier, and... More

Annie Adair gives an enjoyable, informative, and stimulating tour of some of the highlights of historical Volterra. As a history buff with a fair knowledge of Italian history back to Etruscan times, I was very impressed by how much she knows about the history--she's a real treasure, full of engaging historical stories and trivia about the area. For example, I... More

We really enjoyed this short walking tour. The incredibly rich history of beautiful Volterra is nicely laid out by our guide Annie Adair. She has other guides that conduct her tours, but it was nice to have Annie. I love Italian history and it was really fascinating, and a good bargain. Be prepared to climb a few of Volterras steep... Definitely recommend taking this tour. We went with tourguide Claudia and discovered the Etruscan city of Volterra through her eyes. Great sights, great history and great tourguide. Also nice to be in a small tour; even with only 4 people the tour was on and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Even got nice dinner recommendations in the end.

We took the tour on May 2nd, it was raining like crazy, and still our wonderful tour guide (unfortunately I am not completely sure what was her name) showed up on time and gave us a great tour of the city. Do not miss this opportunity to learn about the history and main sites of this city from a charming... More
