Enjoyed the walk to the waterfront and up the stairs to this church which looks just like a sandcastle from town. Go through the church and enter the garden where there are several lookout spots to see in all directions.

This church sits out on the water and the view is amazing. It is worth the walk just for the view. Walk out in to the gardens to see the blue water. ..wow.

If in Tropea, do tale the time to climb up the "Isola" and visit this small church. A real mystic atmosphere there and beautiful views from the square in front of it.

Unfortunately it was closed. I think it opens in April. Pretty from outside. Would have liked to see inside.

amazing view sitting atop this little hill on the waters edge - stunning. Be aware/respectful that it is a church and bare shoulders should be covered if you enter - they do provide a shawl if you dont have one.

Unfortunately, the day that we went to visit, church was not operating, they were doing stairs, and it was all closed and blocked for tourist to enter. We walked near by and it is really special place to visit. Just beautiful.

This church is positioned on the edge of Tropea, high on an outcrop of rock, looking out to sea. The church is easy to access - there is a car park at the bottom, and you climb the steps in 2 minutes. The facade has been renovated recently, and looks stunning (some reviews said it has been a bit overly-restored... More

unfortunately the church was closed during my visit, so I can only comment on the outside. It is a dreamlike building perched on top of a hill in a little peninsula surrounded by the Tirreno sea. Take a photo that you'll proudly show to your friends.

At the end of April, 2014 this site was closed to the public for ongoing work. It appears that the exterior of the church has been overly restored, inviting comparisons with a Lego building. Older photographs show a much more charming, slightly ruined building.
