The church is quite beautiful from the outside. Once you are inside there is really not too much here to see. The gardens are dreadful and neglected. Looks like everyone that visits carves their names (etc) into the cactuses. There is a custodian there that seems to do nothing but lock and unlock the gate. Little gift shop seems to... More

Beautiful southern Italy! Visiting historical Santa Maria dell'Isola is worth the visit. Wear walking sandals or shoes as you will have to climb several steps up the rock to the top. It is an easy walk. Visiting the church and gardens is wonderful. The small gift shop also includes unique inexpensive gifts to take home. Views of Tropea and the... More

A Church with the nice garden behind it (1€), the access to the roof included. The incredible view to Stomboly and the sunset from the garden and from the roof.

Definitely visit this church and small museum while at the amazing beach below. Avoid midday as there are a bit of stairs but it is worth it for the spectacular views and a stroll through the garden as well. Great photo ops.

A short climb brings you up to this little old church (very small charge to enter) standing on a freestanding outcrop. It has a charming garden at the rear. But best of all are the views of Tropea and along the coast.

If you're in Tropea you definitely have to visit this church. It is the backdrop to many pictures. It overlooks beautiful beaches. It's a climb to get there but great exercise and once you're there you experience the beautiful scenery and beautiful gardens. They have a lovely little shop to purchase some religious items. I

Located on top of a rocky island connected to the mainland by a short causeway it occupies a great position that affords spectacular views of the town pf Tropea clinging to the clifftops right opposite. There Are nice sandy beaches on eithet side.

The tour of the monestary is fine but the true magic is to photograph it at magic hour from high ground. Its also fee. ;)

I visited this legendary church one morning before heading to the beach at the foot of the hill where this famous church is loceted. The gates opened at 9 am a small staircase leads to the top, nothing strenuous, but once you reach the top you can enjoy a beautiful view over the sea and the fantastic town perched. The... More
