The Duomo itself is dramatically set on a terrace and has a beautiful façade. Inside the star attraction are the frescoes by Fra Filippo Lippi in the apse of the main altar.

This is one of the great Italian cathedrals, but two things are worth mentioning above all: beautiful facade with mosaic and sculptures, and magnificent frescoes by Filippo Lippi in the altar

Spoleto is as very charming town with a beautiful church. The town, itself, is fun to stroll around in and just listen to the beautiful Italian language being spoken. The townspeople are very friendly and helpful.

You will have seen the picture now see the real thing, This is a stunning Italian cathedral best viewed looking down from the via Sappi and then walk down the slope to enjoy this wonderful external tower and collonsade. The interior is interesting but in my view does not match the outside

Usually duomos are of a size that you feel you haven't done them justice This is small compared to most It is a beautiful romanasque church with lovely frescoes The Duomo is hard to miss and is central in the exploration of this lovely little city
