This is a must do for any cyclist/runner/walker/outdoor person! It is brilliantly done! With amazing coastal views, a well laid out path, and tunnels with history of the San Remo Cycle Race to keep you entertained.

Sanremo is layered on many levels: the sea level has actually few beaches, but 2 ports, Portosole for super-yachts and the old port for fishermen and sailors. The shopping level along via Matteotti, Roma, Garibaldi, etc. The archaic level in the so called Pigna old town district On top of these, the mountain level, very close and full of natural,... More

Very nice riding your bike along the sea with beautiful views. A must-do in Sanremo. Very pictoresque.

You can walk, cycle, or skate from Sanremo to San Lorenzo al Mare in complete isolation from traffic. It stands on the old coastal railway line and coasts the sea all along the way. You can hire a bicycle atalong the route or if you are lucky enough borrow one from your hotel (as I did from the Hotel Ideal... More

Bikes are relatively cheap and easy to hire, you can explore further afield and work off some of the delicious ice cream, pizza or pasta you are sure to eat along the way!

Lovely coastline and great views - from Sanremo to San Lorenzo al Mare (or the other way round) Just a few problems: -many of the locals seem not to understand what a cycle path is- that means you can find people walking along the bike lanes, dogs wondering around unleashed, children playing etc. So be careful if you are cycling... As noted by other reviewers, the train line was relocated inland in 2001 and the old train line has been turned into a cycleway. The cycleway has been well constructed and in fact is still under construction. Currently the bikeway goes 20km in one direction and 4km in the other. It is a bit tedious near San Remo itself as... The local authorities have smartly replaced the railroad between Sanremo and Albenga (the train now finds its way far from the seaside) by a road reserved to cyclists (and runners). It's a great experience for all (young or not). Great sights all along the way, and a lot of very nice small restaurants and bars, established all along it, allowing... More
