We managed to get a table here on our last evening and loved it. What a special place with great wine, the manager provides great recommendations, a wonderful atmosphere and experience.

My husband and I went here for dinner whilst we were staying in Praiano. Quite a small restaurant, so would suggest making a reservation prior. We were a little surprised for there not to be a menu, but we just asked by the owner whether we felt like 'seafood' or 'meat' for dinner, which after over a week of Italian... More

It is a good place, I can not deny. The prices are good, I can't deny either. But the dishes are so small...

As others have said, a tiny place with seating for two dozen people so avoid disappointment, stop in a day in advance or late afternoon when he opens the wine bar (dinner service starts at 6:30-to - whenever) and ask for a reservation. We checked at 5:00 and lucked into the last available table. Gennaro, the owner, chef, sommelier &... More

We read the reviews before patronizing Gennero's and we would like to add a sixth star for this review as it was the best dining experiance in all of Italy. We discovered this place unfortunatley the last day we were in Praiano, so on our next trip to Italy we'll spend more time with this lovely human being who by... More

We were so looking forward to this, based on other reviews. Our experience exactly mirrors rubyg117. We were there on September 26, 2013. We were the first to arrive. Gennaro poured us each a glass of house wine and proceeded to tell us how tired he was. 16 hours a day. No day off in months. We made appropriate "poor... More

After reading the reviews we couldn't wait to go. We were the first ones there at 7pm and had a glass of wine. Got our entrees - I had a steak he had fish. Served with a salad - good But not outstanding. Steak is fried in a frying pan - enough said. Proceeded to wait 2 hours for second... More

It is like a good play in the theatre. You have some idea what is going to happen but only a clue... You play a passive role. Gennaro, the chef, actor, director and sound man is performing and u sit there to be spoiled. No menu. Gennato will serve u delicious food and wine - whatever he cooked that day.... More

We read about Vivaro on Trip Advisor and wanted to try it. Turns out it is almost right across the street from the Tramonto d'Oro hotel (another exceptional value - great rooms, prices, stunning views). We walked in the first night there, made a reservation for our second night and ate there the third night also. The first night was 70... More

Chef Gennaro is the best. .Absolutely phenomenal! You gotta go enjoy his food. Just sit back and let him take charge. the Chef will have a conversation with you. He will ask you what you like and will then create a culinary experience you will never forget. Do not ask for a menu because there is none.
