This stretch of coastline has often been described as the most beautiful in the entire Mediterranean. One afther another, green and rocky mountainsp lunge dramatically into the mediterranean blue sea. The famouse Amalfi Coast road clings to the mountainsides revealing a succession of picturebook wiews each seemingly more stunning than the one before. Not so many years ago much of this coast was only accessible by boat. Now it is a fashionable resort area which retains the charm of past times.

Walk the extra distance to get to this wonderful beach and avoid the chaos and crowds of Positano's main beach. The walk is beautiful and good exercise, as is any walk in Positano. Lunch can be purchased from several cabana restaurants in the area. It's so much more relaxing than the other beach and tends to be a more adult... More

One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The beach is busy but we visited in september and it was quite nice and not crowded

Just a little north of the water taxi port. Walk up behind the cabanas that are selling tickets and you'll find a pathway going up and winding but the beach is worth going to.

Always wanted to visit positano, and yes its exactly how you see it in pictures...only better to take in the beauty of the colors, the smell of the clean air at the beach. Gets crowed at times especially peak season.

On a beautiful October day, from the town the beach was quite long but pleasant, interesting walk downhill however there are hundreds of steps. It is a pebbled rather than a sandy beach however there are cafes and restaurants plus wonderful panoramic views of Positano.

The beach , the food the people without a doubt the best sun bathing spot in Positano. Swam all day had lunch specials every day with the brothers at Grassi. I miss being there!

we were in positano in october. not much going on at the beach, although it was a lovely walk to get there. no one was on the beach the day we were there, but looks like it is a great place in the warm weather.

The Fornillo beach, like all beaches in Positano, is pebbly and if that's a problem for your feet may I suggest rubber swimming shoes available for purchase in the postcard shop on the front near the Port at Positano. The point is that it is a nice place to swim and we spent some lovely afternoons there. The stabilameni -... More

Spent a week in Positano in November and enjoyed good weather so made a trip or two down to the beach, it's a lovely sheltered beach which the waves barely lapped upon all week as it was such a still and calm week. The beach is dark coarse sand which is a shame, if it were normally coloured it'd be... More

Very quaint little beach that will take many steps to get there but worth the hike. Walking the winding road down to the steps is absolutely wonderful as well. We needed some exercise after eating all the wonderful food there.
