Description: This stretch of coastline has often been described as the most beautiful...
This stretch of coastline has often been described as the most beautiful in the entire Mediterranean. One afther another, green and rocky mountainsp lunge dramatically into the mediterranean blue sea. The famouse Amalfi Coast road clings to the mountainsides revealing a succession of picturebook wiews each seemingly more stunning than the one before. Not so many years ago much of this coast was only accessible by boat. Now it is a fashionable resort area which retains the charm of past times.

Lovely smaller beach. A good choice away from Spiaggia Grande which is too crazy for my taste and since I stayed at Hotel Pupetto, this beach was quite convenient! The staff was excellent and attentive.

I wish every beach created a little piece of Positano like Spiaggia del Fornillo! As a life-long beach bum, there's something so fabulous about this section of beach in Positano that I now refer to it as bliss-bumming & it's well worth paying for. For starters, the lounge chairs are brilliantly designed (I wish we could purchase them in America)... More

This beach is very quaint and quiet. A five minute walk from the shore in Positano. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas.

First, how to get here ...we left our Fornillo - side villa and followed signs to beach, so we came down ~ 400 steps. But, when leaving beach, look left, notice people on upper walkway, that is Via Positanesi d'America, and it leads to main beach, Spiaggia Grande. Much easier to get back to main Positano and bus stop! (If... More

This is not the main beach in Positano, but is by far the greatest. It is lively, with amazing views, a few beach bars and restaurants nearby. There's no noise from the big boats coming in, no hustle from hundreds of people getting off their cruise boats every day, etc. We didn't do any water sports, but you can rent... More

We had such a great day at the beach in Positano. You can pay for a chair/umbrella on one side but no one really does. Just set your towel down and enjoy the day with tourists and locals. This section is a bit smaller but still okay. The sand is really all small pebbles so this is a little hard... More

Smaller of two main beaches in Positano. Less active boat traffic than Grande. Smaller crowd. Chair with umbrella 10 or 12 euro depending on front row or not in August. Have chair reserved in morning by phone. Stone beach. Body surfing for short distance. 10 yr old enjoyed

Excellent on a weekday in June. Not so many people an good little restaurants. Relaxing after all the hard walking to get there.

We love Bagni d'Arienza but Spiaggia del Fornillo is probably slightly better. As with all the beaches around here it is stony with lovely warm and clear water. You have a number of different cafes where you can rent sun loungers. We used Bar Pupetto, which is at then far west end of the beach. Normal price of EUR8 for... More

This was our favourite beach by far. Not to busy, nice breeze and great places for lunch. The 469 steps back to the hotel gave you a real appetite, but you could easily meander along the coastal path to the main town and follow the road back up at a leisurely pace.
