One afther another, green and rocky mountainsp lunge dramatically into the mediterranean blue sea. The famouse Amalfi Coast road clings to the mountainsides revealing a succession of picturebook wiews each seemingly more stunning than the one before. Not so many years ago much of this coast was only accessible by boat. Now it is a fashionable resort area which retains the charm of past times. « less

This beach is tucked away from the hordes of tourists on the main beach. Fantastic choice of cafes to dine and drink at right on the waterfront. Its a lovely short walk around to the main town centre. Great choice if you dislike crowds

Lots of pebbles but great fun taking a dip with the happy Italian families, looking back up at the wonderful view of Positano its houses and cafes built into the cliff. There's the free beach next to the boats, then the locals' beach with the watchful local patrolling the sunchairs, then the paid section where it's by the day or... More

...go to Fornillo. It's less crowded, less expensive, and staff is so friendly. They'll do everything to help you feel comfortable (this includes some very good cocktails too). The water is more clear than on the main beach, make sure you wear some crocs or water shoes because just like on the main beach it's not a sand beach, the... More

Totally worth the walk! Beautiful beach, not as crowded as the main beach, and not as expensive for a chair and umbrella. Enjoyed a FABULOUS bruschetta for lunch that now is one of the top two I've eaten in Italy! Free wi-fi nice as well.

For some time out while visiting Positano, take the stairs to the right(looking out to sea) and walk along a lovely paved cliff path to the Beautiful, less crowded Spiaggia Fornillo. There are a couple of good beach cafe/ lettina(lounge) bars along the beach. We personally had great service from Guido and his family at Ferdinandos( look for the green... More

Bring the camera and start shooting! WOW is all we could say as our eyes moved from one scenic section of this gorgeous Mediterranean coastline to another. Your own mental picture will last a lifetime, but the camera helps you share it with others! Is it the white sandy beach of the Caribbean? No, but your are in rocky coast... More
