If you like crazy overcrowded beaches then this is your place, but not for me. Go to Fornillo or Arienzo instead!

This beach is amazing, but be aware of a couple of things: there is a tourist section and a locals section; you want the part with orange umbrellas(not blue). It costs 12.50 per person/chair. The loungers have a built in visor and umbrella to keep you safe from the sun (very cool). The water is warm and calm. Great place!

Like most Mediterranean beaches, you pay to get onto that part of the beach with sun lounges and umbrellas, or squeeze into the free public section, although there is no difference in the pebbles and shingle that make up the beach itself. Whichever part you choose (public is the best value option if you don't plan on sun bathing all... More

If you want a clean beach, toilets and fantastic place to swim and eat lunch then come here, yes it’s big and noisy but it’s all part of the Italian way. Gennaro runs the beach with military procession, he’s a friendly guy and we loved the times we had there. Buy some sea shoes they will be your saviour

Larger of two Positano main beaches. Short walk connects the two. More boat traffic here. Larger crowd. More eating options. Connects to main shopping area. Reserve chair and umbrella by phone in morn. Stone beach. Body surfing short. Preferred Fornillo beach due less people, better waves.

Great beach.. as in most of Europe, you pay for your stay, but you get a nice sun bed, umbrella, and clean bathrooms and showers. The beach staff are friendly and fun. There is an excellent large restaurant, and 2 snack bars with drinks and great food.. if you want to be off the beach a bit, head to "La... More

Unreal place to go to - looks even better in real life than the spectacular pictures. The backdrop is what makes it so amazing. Take a look up the cliff at the many colours and detail. The waterfront itself is nothing special but overall a great place to explore.

Because this beach is easily accessible and friendly to swimmers and boaters alike, it gets my 5-star rating! Wear sandals or swim shoes as the rocky beach and pebbles are quite uncomfortable. The water is very beautiful and refreshing in the humid heat on the coast.

Not a great beach by Australian standards, but once you get over that and soak up the Positano location it's pretty good.

Not a totally unique experience, but a must go-to, for sure! You get down there and look back and what do you see? But, of course, the vertical city, what else? Find a nice spot and just let yourself be taken away with people- watching, houses-watching, little or bigger verandas popping out from everywhere. Let your eyes travel all along... More
