Positano is one of those picturesque hillside towns that defines the Almafi coast. The town is so vertical and colorful, you can't help but love it. It's challenging for those that have a hard time with steps and steep inclines, but I've been waiting a long time to see this place. The beach itself isn't much. It's mostly smooth rocks... More

None of the beaches in Amalfi are really stunning themselves The idea is to get high up and get as wide and wholistic a view as possible over the coast line and onto Positano itself. Pictures attached

The beach itself is very average. It is small and crowded with grey, uncomfortable pebbles which are not all pleasant to walk or lie on. There are many private operators on the beach where you can hire lounge chairs and umbrellas. I don't mind if there is perhaps one or two on a beach but this beach has been taken... More

Well, I have seen better beaches, but the views just could not be more spectacular. From the beach, you can get a clear and unobstructed vista of the beautiful hill town, crystal clear water, brightly colored boats, lovely picteresque old buildings hanging over the sea...There are plenty of cozy cafes and restaurants around; we picked one of them and stopped... Yep, it's a tourist trap. The walk from the main road (SS163) will take you past numerous restaurants, hotels, and gift shops. Feel free to shop and enjoy! I felt there was a good mix of Italians and tourists, but you'll notice more than a few tour buses from all over. But seriously, the views are INCREDIBLE. Put your feet... More

This has to be the most beautiful place in the world. The water is blue, clean and not freezing like in Australia. The best part is the view of the hills as you lie on your sun lounge. There are many tourists but I didn't find it overcrowded. There are heaps of places to eat along the shore and we... More

The main beach where everything happens in Positano. The sand is dark, which was weird for us, but the place is easy to find and with food and service available.

A bit unassuming at first as you walk out on the beach with is rocky, gravely surface underfoot. Heading out to the waterline to dip your toes in the water. After looking out at the yachts and oh so blue waters, you think, eh...this is pretty nice. And then, you turn around. MY GOOD NESS! The view looking back on... More

We spent a lunch here after driving down the Amalfi Coast. Was a nice peaceful lunch overlooking the beach. The wining passage ways that lead you here are really cute. Beware of parking costs but I don't think this can be avoided.

when you first walk onto this town beach its not to good with its gravely black sand and pebbles. The waters nice and clean but when you turn back around and look at positano all around you like a stage sett and its church practicly on the beach you soon forget about the boring old sand.the veiw is fantastic and you...
