The main beach where everything happens in Positano. The sand is dark, which was weird for us, but the place is easy to find and with food and service available.

A bit unassuming at first as you walk out on the beach with is rocky, gravely surface underfoot. Heading out to the waterline to dip your toes in the water. After looking out at the yachts and oh so blue waters, you think, eh...this is pretty nice. And then, you turn around. MY GOOD NESS! The view looking back on... More

We spent a lunch here after driving down the Amalfi Coast. Was a nice peaceful lunch overlooking the beach. The wining passage ways that lead you here are really cute. Beware of parking costs but I don't think this can be avoided.

when you first walk onto this town beach its not to good with its gravely black sand and pebbles. The waters nice and clean but when you turn back around and look at positano all around you like a stage sett and its church practicly on the beach you soon forget about the boring old sand.the veiw is fantastic and you... We took a half day in Positano and grabbed a couple of sun beds while enjoying the pebbly beach and incredible views of Positano behind us. Even if you are hard to please, the views of the town behind you are amazing. Just the landscape alone makes this place a must see! I wouldn't recommend much more than a day... More

As Positano itself an expensive crowded place this beach is no different. Parking was 25 EUR for the day, not worth it.

Although still stunningly beautiful, this beach is very expensive abc also really crowded as it's the main beach in the centre if town. It's also situated next to the main port if boats to Capri/Amalfi. Not exactly peaceful

A cheery family atmosphere on a clean pebbly beach with the vibrant sounds of Positano in the background. Take a swim here on a Sunday morning with the bells chiming from the church on the edge of the beach. Then go and see the church with the cute kids giving printed information on the wonderful history of this church and... More

12.50 Euros for a chair on this main stretch of beach on Positano, but the views looking back at the city are breathtaking! Typical rocky European beach, but the Mediterranean water was wonderful.

Sun bathing, people watching, swimming, relaxing....all of these can be done on Spiaggia grande but why bother when there is a far nicer beach, less crowded and just a far better place to be is only a 10 minute walk away. Sure, its obvious to just go here as its the first thing you see when you arrive by boat... More
