yes, you see everything from above. Don't miss the sunsets, the views to Palmaria and the mountain range to the bottom, even the marble from Carrara shines. You won't regret having walked uphill.

This is an interesting ruin spanning a large area and commanding a spectacular view over the sea. However the only way you can reach it is on foot and there are many many steps you have to take in order to reach it... I am fairly fit but even I was panting by the time I reached the top! This... If you do not go to Doria Castle, then you have not seen the best of Porto Venere. The castle is just lovely, offering incredible sea views and vantage points of the area. It is a bit of a walk to the top, but do not let that deter you. Definitely take time to make your way up, take some... More

The views are stunning and the cemetary a must to visit. A trip down memory lane, seeing the portraits of the deceased in period clothing from the early 1800's. The Castle is well preserved, empty but the vaulted ceilings and small surrounding gardens peaceful. A lovely place too and while away a few peaceful hours. Unfortunately many tourists, we were... The warnings of the difficult walk from the Harbour are greatly exaggerated. This is a short walk that can be done by stairs or the more gentle rise via the longer zig zag route. Either way I suggest you make the effort because the views from the top are stunning. Entry is only €2 and on a nice day there... More

Hard walk to get up, but the view is worth it, and the Castello is stunning inside! Probably really sad to miss this place, so try to get up to it!

Beautiful wedding site for my brother in law. Gorgeous view. Just wear comforable shoes as approx 145 stair climb to get to top...then change into your fancier shoes!

This castle was great, long walk up to it from the harbour but once there loads to look at, views from all different angles, beautiful flowers growing from the walls.
