For over eight centuries "Decugnano" has been used to indicate the name of the land of the estate. The soil rich in fossils, oysters and shells, the micro climate and a wide temperature range are all factors particularly suitable for wine growing. Beside a very modern cellar, the visitor has the possibility to admire the Etruscan caves, today utilized for the production of the sparkling wine "spumante" and to mature certain wines in barrels. Within spectacular scenery, the Estate organizes guided tours to their cellars followed by wine tasting and local delicacies. WE ARE OPEN! Saturday & Sunday

We had a lovely day at this Winery outside of Orvieto. Beautiful grounds, very informative tour from Anna Rita, generous wine tastings served with cold cuts and cheese. Wish we could have stayed for the cooking class, it looked great!

The vineyard is gorgeous and Anna Rita was a wonderful guide. She arranged a car to pick us up and return us to Orvieto which made getting there so easy. The grounds are beautiful and it was wonderful to hear about the history of the property and learn about the wine and champagne making process. The tour ended with a... More

We enjoyed a perfect Spring morning at Decugnano with Anna Rita. The tour was great: stunning view, cool cave, and most importantly for us it was a great escape from the chaos of Rome! The property was perfect for our 2 1/2 year old to explore while we wandered with Anna. She was wonderful to both our young boys, while... More

I did a lot of research online to find wineries in Orvieto and Montepulciano and am so happy we visited Decugnano dei Barbi. It is a unique tour and very personal. Seeing in their caves is a great experience. However, the best part was by far the tasting in an old chapel on their grounds. My husband and I were... More

I have studied in Orvieto and visited many times but had never been here. The views are amazing, the wine is superb and Anna Rita is so knowledgeable of wine and welcoming. I was here with my family and for nearly paying nothing we got to taste a bunch of wine as well as having more cheese, meat, and olives... More

My wife and I just spent 3 weeks throughout southern France and Italy and concluded that the visit to Decugnani dei Barbi was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Not only is the wine itself spectacular, but the views from the vineyard and the scenery in general was so picturesque. And then the icing on the cake is... More

My wife and I along with another couple just returned from 18 days in Italy. We went to roughly 15 winery tours and tastings in the Piedmont, Chianti, Tuscany and Umbria regions. The tour and tasting with Anna Rita was among the best if not the best of the trip. Anna Rita's in-depth knowledge, enthusiasm and engaging personality along with... More

There are so many reasons to visit Decugnano dei Barbi- the views are amazing, the winery is so unique with the caves, Anna Rita is a fantastic host, and the wine tasting in the old church is so yummy. We'd been to another tasting before this one where you were basically given crackers to cleanse your palate with between wines.... More
