The soil rich in fossils, oysters and shells, the micro climate and a wide temperature range are all factors particularly suitable for wine growing. Beside a very modern cellar, the visitor has the possibility to admire the Etruscan caves, today utilized for the production of the sparkling wine "spumante" and to mature certain wines in barrels. Within spectacular scenery, the Estate organizes guided tours to their cellars followed by wine tasting and local delicacies. WE ARE OPEN! Saturday & Sunday « less

I visited the beautiful estate in August, with my girlfriend on the way back from Rome. The place is marvellous, starting from the nature. It has a beautiful view, catching history and serious production unit. The thousands of years old cellars where the wine is kept are astonishing. Our hostess Anna Rita and her welcoming warmness, good English and knowledge... More

I have been on many winery tours in Napa and Sonoma, and Decugnano dei Barbi was my first Italian winery tour. I had a great afternoon with Anna learning about the prosecco-making process, and enjoying a laid-back sampling of wines, cheeses, and different bruschetta. I have been trying to buy more of their vino rosso after returning to the States,... More

We visited and toured the vineyards in August, 2014. It was a fantastic day! Our tour guide, Anna Rita, educated us about the winemaking process and the beautiful vineyards. She was the perfect hostess and teacher. We were also served an amazing meal of local delicacies in the beautiful converted chapel. This tour was the highlight of my vacation. I... More

In June our party of 4 visited decugnano dei barbi. We were given a tour of the vineyards and then enjoyed a wine tasting. Our hostess was extremely gracious and knowledgeable. We toured both the new building and the "caves" and the wine/sparkling wine process was explained in clear detail. Our wine tasting was fabulous. We were served a delicious,... More

While staying in Orvieto we found Decugnano dei Barbi winery... online by Trip Advisor. This is just one nice winery you must see. Anna our tour guide and their sommelier gave us the history of Decugnano dei Barbi and Orvieto. It was a small private tour of 10 people. You need to make reservations so call ahead. The winery is... My husband and I decided to escape the craziness that is Roma on Easter weekend and took to the highway North to the beautiful ancient town of Orvietto. We have long been lovers of the wine produced from this region so naturally we booked a few wine tours/tastings; the first of which was at Decugnano dei Barbie. We had arranged... More
