7 euro pp round trip, very steep so not good if you're not keen on heights! You can sit inside or stand on the platform at the front or back outside. Views from the top are excellent and it runs late so handy for heading out for dinner to Motecatini Alto.

You came all this way, pay the money and take advantage do the spectacular views. Great food! Go just before dusk and enjoy the scenery and then the lights! Worth the trip and I have to admire those that live there.

Great turn-of-the-century experience. Charming and authentic. Montecatini alto is a charming little place especially when you get to it this way.

Worth the trip to experience the beautiful views from the top. We went just before dusk, so were able to experience both the daylight views and the change to night. So happy to have done this. Trains leave the top and bottom at the same time and pass each other somewhere in the middle. Wish I had known the "concept"... More

Fabulous little train and really cheap to travel up the mountain. Wonderful restaurant at top called Window on the World. Lovely to walk around the tiny village and top of the little mountain

When our spa plans fell through (they were booked), we were looking for something to do when we stumbled upon this attraction. We ended up going for a ride the next day too. The village at the top is adorable with cafés and some shopping. The views were the most amazing. If the weather is nice, ride on the outside... More

It's old, it's creaky, and it's absolutely worth the trip up the hill for the views, and for the visit to the old town at the top. (Check Le Torre for dinner!). Don't miss reading about the history of the tram while you wait for the next train.

We have traveled the funicolare in the past up to Montecatini alto. Great fun with friends. Dinner at La Torre on the main square is the best in Italy! Trust me!

dont travel seated in one of the carriages but stand on the end, facing downhill if possible, for the best views
