We tried twice but unfortunately it was late evening.. I would like to try this 10 minutes voyage in daylight and see the panorama at Montecatini Alto

Nice ride up the side of the mountain to Montecatini Alto. Plenty of places to eat and relax. Well worth the venture

The first time I stayed in Montecatini, I hiked it up the hill to M. Alto. I don't recommend it unless you are in good shape (and it's a constant watch for traffic.) The funicolare is the ideal solution.. safer and a quiet, fairly inexpensive means to get to the summit. After exiting the topside station, it's less than a... More

Lots of history about this funicular on how and why it was built. Worth a trip to Terme, especially Sunday just too see all the families dressed up for church and the grounds & views around the church & village.

The Funicolare was a very good way of getting up to Montecatini Alto. It was an enjoyable ride up as the sun was setting and an equally as enjoyable ride down in the half light half dark atmosphere. At 7 euros a return, the pricing was good and not too expensive. It seemed to be the quickest way to get... More

Very quaint trip up to Montecatini Alto. A bit expensive and the walk from town was quite a hike. The town at the top is well worth seeing, it's a "don't miss".

This is a fun way to travel up to Montecatini Alto. Note, it closes for a short period of time in the afternoon, so check the schedule.

The quickest way to get up to Montecatini Alto. It cost 7 Euros for a round trip ticket. For the best views ride on the front or back of the train standing up. It is a rather small train, so if you want to catch it right after lunch, be sure to get in line early as it closes for... More
