Not in the best part of town and not the best atmosphere but train service was very good. Station is old, not refurbished, no amenities.

Convenient to most "tourist hotels" on and around plaza. Only one rail so impossible to get on the wrong train, which is great for "newbies"

Used this station extensively during stay & generally had no problems. General Trenitalia comments: Station attendants vary widely - some speak great English and give helpful info (like that you must get tix validated before boarding train). Others we had trouble communicating with and they didn't give us any help. Tix machines work for simple point to point train rides... More

Trains are inexpensive, fast, and clean. However! DO NOT wait to take the last or second to last train in the evening. They do not stop at every stop, they do not announce where they are. We missed our stop and were stranded at midnight in unfamiliar area with no cabs and no more trains running.

One of two stations in Montecatini Terme with regular, cheap services to Florence and Lucca and many other places.

We used the Montecatini station as the jumping-off point for our day trips to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and were pleased with the efficiency of the Italian Regionale train system.

The machines were confusing so we went to the ticket agent. My husband said I would be sorry! The agent was so nice, helpful and friendly .He answered my question on what station we had to get on the train to go to Florence. We had prepurchased our tickets online with Italia and it called out the main train station... More

could not use any of my credit cards (does not matter if Visa, Amex or Mastercard, tried them all) in ticketing machine, so I was forced to use the long waiting line and buy tickets from station clerk at the counter.

There is nothing there except some riff raff - We traveled from here to Florence daily and the conductor never came for our ticket. Not once. I never knew if the train was gonna come in on the right track. Luckily, we never got lost. Ticket clerk was never there when we needed them.
