No one there to help you. You buy train tickets from machine, or go to Tobacco shop (block away) and buy from them. Train only goes two places. To left, you go to Florence and large train station where you can buy tickets to anywhere. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Florence by train.

Station looked really old and neglected, not all ticket machines were working, and explanation about ticket validation was not so clear. But good connection to Florence and Pisa.

Liked that trains are efficient and punctual. Decent cafe. Disliked toilets but the same in every train station.

Box office rarely open but two ticket machines which are easy to use. Only one line so you can't go wrong as one way takes you to Florence the other takes you to Lucca/Viareggio

We used the trains often to go to Florence,Lucca and Verragio and they were always on time and we always got a seat. Definitely the best way to see other towns.

But grubby and ticket office closed every time we went. Accosted by beggars demanding money for 'helping' me operate the automatic ticket machine
