Imagination, knowledge and deep roots. The Donnafugata wines are a passionate interpretation of Sicily and its sensorial universe. Donnafugata was created in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years’ experience in premium wines. The adventure began in the Rallo family’s historic cellars in Marsala in 1983 and at its Contessa Entellina vineyards in the heart of western Sicily. In 1989 Donnafugata arrived on the island of Pantelleria, starting to produce naturally sweet wines.

When skipping over the 'things to do' in and around Marsala we couldn't ignore the multiple positive reviews for Donnafugata. We were lucky to be able to join a tour in English that just started, and were not disappointed at all! We were allowed to use the elevator as my girlfriend was not able to comfortably us the stairs at... More

Donnafugata is a must if you like great wine. Grillo is the main grape of white wines and it's fantastic. Visit and enjoy.

Dear Anne N, thank you for visiting our Cellar in Marsala and reviewing the experience on TA. Indeed Grillo is one of our main varieties of common grapes of Sicily but we have many other ones: from the delicious Zibibbo from which we extract aromas and the taste of our Ben Ryé to Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah that grow... One could say that having visited one winery, you've seen them all. We were a family of 15 ages 7+ and even the children enjoyed the tour. Our host was gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating. The wine tasting was absolutely fantastic - the best we've experienced at any such establishment. The wines are of very good quality and the pairing was... More

When we decided to visit Donnafugata, we didn't have any expectations nor references. Staying in Trapani we just wanted to try some Marsala wine. We chose Donnafugata for the funniest reason - my wife was recently reading the Leopard book and we saw the Donnafugata sign somewhere. How surprised we were when we discovered that Donnafugata actually doesn't produce traditional... More

Myself and my wife visited this winery and we managed to get in for the last tour of the day. It was just us and the very friendly guide who gave us an in depth tour of the facility. It was a very enjoyable tour and it was great to sample the produce at the end. Highly recommended if you... More

We experienced a guided tour of the cellars and bottling plant of the Marsala complex, part of the family's historic winery (1851). This tour included a 1 hour professional, educational wine tasting in beautiful artistic surroundings. Our six selected wines were accompanied by six accompanying Sicilian food dishes, and the reasons for the selection clearly explained.

We had a very nice wine testing (med. plus) with food pairing. It was suppose to be 6 wines, but Marco let us taste 8. 40 euros per person is not cheap, but they opened all new bottles. After the tasting we bought 9 bottles ( inc. 2 magnums). But they did not waive the wine tasting fees :( The... More
