Imagination, knowledge and deep roots. The Donnafugata wines are a passionate interpretation of Sicily and its sensorial universe. Donnafugata was created in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years’ experience in premium wines. The adventure began in the Rallo family’s historic cellars in Marsala in 1983 and at its Contessa Entellina vineyards in the heart of western Sicily. In 1989 Donnafugata arrived on the island of Pantelleria, starting to produce naturally sweet wines.

A very nice castle to visit and walk around, entrance is about 7eur. There is a testaurant near the castle where you can try the teaditional Ricotta chease, local wine. Not far from the castle is Punta Secca-a nice resort with a sandy (free) beach.

We experienced a guided tour of the cellars and bottling plant of the Marsala complex, part of the family's historic winery (1851). This tour included a 1 hour professional, educational wine tasting in beautiful artistic surroundings. Our six selected wines were accompanied by six accompanying Sicilian food dishes, and the reasons for the selection clearly explained.

Even if this is in the city and not a wine yard, it is interesting to visit, and the guided tour and tasting are professionally executed and their wine is nice

Dear Runar N, thank you for your valuable feedback. We are happy to read that you appreciated the tour and the tasting. We try to do our best. Coming to no vineyards and being in the city, well yes, it's true. Our vineyards are in Contessa Entellina and in Pantelleria where you can go and there also we take tours... More

We had a very nice wine testing (med. plus) with food pairing. It was suppose to be 6 wines, but Marco let us taste 8. 40 euros per person is not cheap, but they opened all new bottles. After the tasting we bought 9 bottles ( inc. 2 magnums). But they did not waive the wine tasting fees :( The... More

We had a wine tasting in the premises of the winery. The premises are excellent and very clean. The guide speaks perfect English and is very detailed and friendly. We tasted some of the local varieties including Ben Rye the sweet passito di Pantelleria. All their wines are amazing and very characteristic. The only negative comment is the very high... More

Whenever you're traveling to Sicily it doesn't matter. You must pay a visit to this winery. They have the best Passito di Pantelleria (zibibbo) I ever tasted: the Ben Rieu

I wasn't familiar with Donnafugata wines, but I'm so glad I saw the TripAdvisor reviews and scheduled a visit to the winery. My inquiry received an immediate reply (not so for some other wineries in the area), and I easily reserved an English-language tour and Mediterranean tasting for one of the days I requested. Upon arrival to the winery, John... More

We were lucky to visit more than 1 vinery in Marsala, so this one differs with quality and variety of their core products, wines, but also with hearty, very personal touch during the degustation. I have made the reservation in advance, so we were a part of a group of 10 people and our guide (sorry, I forgot his name)... More
