Imagination, knowledge and deep roots. The Donnafugata wines are a passionate interpretation of Sicily and its sensorial universe. Donnafugata was created in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years’ experience in premium wines. The adventure began in the Rallo family’s historic cellars in Marsala in 1983 and at its Contessa Entellina vineyards in the heart of western Sicily. In 1989 Donnafugata arrived on the island of Pantelleria, starting to produce naturally sweet wines.

I wasn't familiar with Donnafugata wines, but I'm so glad I saw the TripAdvisor reviews and scheduled a visit to the winery. My inquiry received an immediate reply (not so for some other wineries in the area), and I easily reserved an English-language tour and Mediterranean tasting for one of the days I requested. Upon arrival to the winery, John... More

while on holiday in Sicily we headed towads Marsala, we stumbled upon this little jewel of a place. We were guided by Marco and he was very friendly and answered all questions as well as giving very detailed information about their wines. Later we were taken into a room where we tasted a few of their wines and i must... More

We were lucky to visit more than 1 vinery in Marsala, so this one differs with quality and variety of their core products, wines, but also with hearty, very personal touch during the degustation. I have made the reservation in advance, so we were a part of a group of 10 people and our guide (sorry, I forgot his name)... More

We recently took the winery tour at Donnafugata. It was "fine" - but the tour had a generic "cut and dried/I was hired to give this tour" feel to it and offered little to enable us to make a personal connection to the place. We loved the idea of a winery producing such an enticing array of dry wines in... More

What do I actually mean by my title? What I am saying is that a visit to this winery was a basic generic visit as to any other winery you may visit. It didn't have any special information or feeling that sets it apart from so many other wineries. It was the basic "We are the ABC winery, we use... More

Dear Giacomo, we are sorry to hear you did not appreciate our basic tour and tasting € 10 p.p. which from our point of view can hardly be compared with a service of 80 €. Anyhow, we take this opportunity to inform you that we offer different tasting options (plain wine tasting, wine tasting paired with food, vertical tasting etc.)... More

My husband and I visited Donnafugata in Dec 2013, and arrived there without prior boooking. We took the afternoon tour of the distillery. Our tour guide John was extremely knowledgeable and told us a lot about it's history and cultural influences. The sweet smelling oak-barrels filled room where some of their best wines are kept for maturing was a sight... More

We booked our tour in advance. Drove the hour to get to winery. Our gps took us directly to our destination. However, we still could not find it! The Donnafugata sign faces the oceanside, we arrived from the other way. Needless to say we had a difficult time finding the entrance. We were late but were greeted by our guide... More

Me and my husband visited Donnafugata in mid September 2013. We really enjoyed the experience and would surely visit again, and bring with us some friends. The experience is really great and I really enjoyed the different type of wines that we have tasted. We really enjoyed the desert wine and then we bought a grappa of this desert wine.... More

Make arrangements via website... site has security and were very helpful when arriving by large travel van. Friendly and welcoming, they advised us of a slight delay, Host was well gifted in several languages, and the tour was interesting, the labels are worth paying attention to as they display the link to the culture of the area.
