Must do on the island

This is a must for anybody who goes to the island. It is the tallest peak on Elba and has the most amazing views of the whole island.

Really recommend going up to the top of this mountain! We rented scooters to get there and took the (interesting) lift up. Once up at the top, there is a nice little restaurant for a snack, but the views - spectacular! Go up, you will not be disappointed...

We took the bird cage like cable car (max. 2 persons inside) to the top of Monte Capanne. It is possible to enjoy beatifull views while lifting up, and from the top of the mount opens 360 degrees view on the island and the sea. There is a bar, so you can have drinks and sandwiches. It is possible to... More

The top of Monte Capanne can easiliy be arrived with the cable car. You have to stand in a small open cabinet for max. two persons where you feel a little bit like you're standing in a birdcage, but it's a nice experience using this way for transportation. On the top of the Monte Capanne (the highest point of Elba)... More

But this one is real - it gets you 1000 m high so you can enjoy thw bes view on the island in 20 minutes. It must be special in autmn, when the arbutus fruit is getteing red. I've seen so many trees among... More

Fantastic views.. riding aboard the birdcage gondola, if you have a fear of heights this would not be for you. The gondola takes you to the top of the mountain overlooking all of the island.

The chairlift is a small basket which can hold just 2 people. It starts off quite gently through the chestnut trees, then turns, and you're hanging above the slopes of the mountain. Spectacular views as you climb, over Marciana, Marciana Marina and Poggio. When you reach the top, you can climb a bit more on a rough path, right up... More

A "Must Do" when visiting Elba Island. Take the "chairlift" where two people ride together standing up in a "bird cage" for 20 minutes to the top of Mount Capanne. The views are spectacular. A not miss!
