9-Euro return by boat from Limone to Malcesine is a must. Malcesine is the best of the towns to the north of Lake Garda then take the cable car up to Monte Baldo for 15 Euros (senior) or get a combined ticket beforehand for 20 E.

Malcesine is a lovely town from which to base yourself. Ferry's go all around the Lake, calling in here. Timetables are well displayed and tickets easy to buy.

Good service from Malcesine to Limone, Torbole and Riva. Easy to buy tickets and the timetable is simple to use too! Paying a little more gives you the chance to 'hop on and off' the boats rather than just go to one destination. Be aware though that travelling in May means the service isn't as comprehensive as it is once... More

We spent a week in Malcesine in early October. Unfortunately the weather was poor but nevertheless we enjoyed travelling on the regular ferries from the central pier in the town. It's a very relaxed way to travel and reach less accessible towns on the western lake shore. We took trips on successive days to Riva, Limone, Gargnano and Salo, all... More

We took a trip from Malcesine to Riva. Definately worth doing. We took our swimming things with us so that we could cool off in the lake while the shops closed during the afternoon, this was very welcome (make sure you take some water shoes as pebbles hurt your feet.)

Ferry operates from Malcesine to Limone and takes about 20 minutes, The cost is 9 euros return. Well worth the money as the road between the two towns is long and winding and very narrow in parts through tunnels etc. Boat takes about 100 people, all seated either inside or on open top. In cooler weather, take a jacket or... More
