An interested place to see is Lake Iseo with its evocative and romantic towns. It is conveniently accessible from Milan by Autostrada A4. On Lake Iseo one can do many things, among which are taking period trains from Milan (and other nearby cities) toward the regions of Sarnico, Paratico and Iseo; boat excursions; excursions to discover villas, castles and Montisola;... Avoid the crowds of the bigger lakes and come to Lago d'Iseo and enjoy the laid back pace of life. We had a delightful stay and found some good restaurants during our relaxing break.

We were very surprised by the beauty and charm of this lake and it's small and beautiful towns. It is surruonded by majestic mountains. We stayed in the town of Iseo, which is beautiful and lively in a charming way. There are many nice places to eat, drink, relax, and it is a good starting point for trekking and boat... More

Lago d'Iseo is much quieter than Lake Garda and is mainly residential. There are no 'tourist gift shops' and the little ferry boats are largely underused and make for easy exploration of the lakeside villages.

Less touristy than other major lakes in north Italy. Quiet place, many quaint towns, worth a visit. Not many locations where you can swim in a lake.

Lago di Iseo is a wonderful lake to admire and to relax walking around it. You can also take a boat trip to Monte Isola. And like nowhere in Italy neither here you would be hungry or thirsty. There is a lot of good restaurants and bars around you to get a drink or a dinner.

We chose to go here because we heard it was less crowded than Garda or Como, and we're glad we did. Stunningly beautiful scenery all around. We took a ferry and spent the day on the island. So picturesque. The ferry was reasonably priced. Good gelato on the island.

Loved the peace and beauty of this place. Much quieter than lake Como and with a different feel altogether. Lovely lakeside towns plus islands to explore on the good ferry service. Right in the heart of the Franciacorta wine region so a great place to explore over a few days.

We visited Montisola, a quaint little island on the lake that can only be reached by ferry. At the highest point of the island therre is a sanctuary... Tough way up, but great experience, and worth all the breath-taking views of all the lake! A must-do for anyone visiting the area!
