You have to try the Genovese cakes and the chocolates and the tarts and just about everything else here. I read all about MG in The Australian (a newspaper) and had to visit. Not disappointed.

We were adviced from a friend about this pastry shop and during our 2 days stay in Erice we went four times and always totally happy about the different kind of sweets we had. We tried the "genovesi" (the best we ever had), the "cannoli" and also the "granita di gelsi". We also bought some almonds cookies to go, which...

Great quality and really cheap! If you eat out in Erice skip dessert and come here instead

The people at Maria Grammatico's were less than friendly, they didn't serve coffee and, worst of all, the...

This place is busy (way busier than the place next door, much to the chagrin of the guy who runs that place, you can tell).

The day we left Erice...

Great trip up the mountain by cable car and a lovely town with fantastic views. Recommend a Peroni in the Town Square.

Even more than the beautiful marzipan creations of fruits and other goodies, her traditional Sicilian dolci are just wonderful. If you like almond flavors and have a sweet tooth. A nice selection of sweet wines is headed by her Passito di Pantelleria. Pleasant shop assistants and best of all, you may see Maria herself.
