There is even a lift available (hiding, right at the back of the courtyard at ground level, in a passageway on the back right hand side) to get you halfway or more up to the entrance. For just 1 euro, you can wander the paths around this beautiful villa in Chiavari amongst huge bushes of Birds of Paradise flower, a palm tree and fir tree collection, waterfalls, rockeries, shady spots to enjoy the scented gardens and views out across the historic town to the sea. Don't miss it if you have a gardener's genes.

It is of special interest to me because I went to school near there at the convent of the Gianelline and I used to see it everyday before it was left to the town by the family Rocca. Now it is well cultivated and open to the public every day for a small fee.

At one point there is an entry booth which will charge you a euro to see the orchid hot house which was VERY disappointing. . .I think only 2 orchids there. Otherwise, the park is free. A nice leisurely hillside park setting. You get great photo op vantage points... More

For a mere euro, you can wander through a gem of a park, fragrant with plantings, charming with ruins, and great views over the city.
