Unfortunately, the "castle" is a ruin but, probably, you'll never forget pictures you can see from the top. The way to the castle isn't cultural but it's possible to do.

Wow! Family completed the hike with a baby in tow to boot! Amazing views from all sides once you get to the top. Brought panini's and water to have a great picnic with one of the best views you can ever ask for. Miss it every time I see the photos. Advise to take it slow if carrying packs or... More

Make an effort to get up early then you will not suffer in the heat! We headed up around 10am and took a leisurely hour or so to get up. There are such brilliant views that you stop all the time to look at the town and coast opening up beneath you. There are interesting relics of Cefalu's history including... More

We got here for 9am to walk up before it got too hot. It does not open until 9 and is locked by a gate further up the path. To walk up to the temple of Diana and the best views is not too strenuous - the top of Rocca does require a level of fitness especially as there is... More

A steep climb on well maintained steps and pathways. There are interesting historical things to see all the way up to the castle at the top, which affords views across Cefalu and the sea, and inland to the mountains. A beautiful place and a must do whilst in Cefalu.

Just make sure you go early in the morning before it gets too hot and wear appropriate shoes as it is steep in parts.

This is quite a trek up the mountain. The first part is relatively easy but the path becomes less paved and more Ricky the further you go. That said it's still a relatively easy climb if you take your time. The views at the very top over the other side of the island and Cefalu itself will be hard to... More

Hard trek to the top but well worth it for the view! Do not wear flip flops because you'll struggle to get up and slide all the way down :) Costs 4 euros and takes about an hour to get up if you take your time. So glad we did this.
