The views from the fort at the top of La Rocca are disappointing. For the best views over the old town, head instead for the signs to the archaeological site and save yourself the slog up to the top of the hill.

The first thing you notice is that the authorities take serious note of who goes up, and checks off that you actually come down again. This in itself should tell you this could be a serious climb with the potential for mishap or perhaps they have had people try to walk out onto the unfenced sheer cliffs and fallen off.... More

The hike is not difficult and takes about 1hour. Even less fit people can do it while taking more breaks and walking slowly. It is worth the effort to see the coast line from the top and some interesting bits of history. Very enjoyable walk, don't miss it! Might be be better in the morning to avoid getting burned as... A good hike with lots of interesting things to see. We made it to the top and the view was wonderful. A leisure hike, friendly people.

I did not climb all the way to the summit, but within 20 minutes or so I was still able to climb up about halfway, to a series of ancient structures. The views were amazing....panoramic views of Cefalu`, the surrounding hills the magnificent sea, and the structures at the summit. In addition, the hills were ablaze with wildflowers! It was... The walk up La Rocca is well worth the effort. We bought a picnic in the town (with lots of water) and headed up to the entrance. The flowers were in full bloom, the sun was shining and the place was very pretty. The walk to the top takes around an hour, we were 2 adults and 2 kids. Stunning... More

I went to this attraction with my blind partner and managed to navigate the paths to the top while guiding her which proved a challenge in itself (my point in mentioning this is to show that if we could do it, then most people should be able to, despite the paths being slightly challenging in places). Once you get off... More

A very nice climb up the La Rocca. Constant changing views. took many photos at each level. I could see my B&B from the top. I also had a great view from the Roof top terrace at my B&B. It was worth the climb.

The hike took us about 45 minutes and is not hard if you're in normal physical shape...you certainly don't have to be a sportsman. The views are worth it and nature is unspoiled. If you go early, you can see wild goats and if you go later you can step in their excrements. It's a fun activity and when you... More
