The hike took us about 45 minutes and is not hard if you're in normal physical shape...you certainly don't have to be a sportsman. The views are worth it and nature is unspoiled. If you go early, you can see wild goats and if you go later you can step in their excrements. It's a fun activity and when you... More

The hike was challenging but enjoyable and the views from the top cannot be missed. It took us a couple hours with sitting around looking at the vistas and wandering around before starting our descent. I would say you haven't seen Cefalu if you don't climb La Rocca. 4 euro entrance fee for adults 2 euro for kids.

A beautiful, interesting walk up the rock behind the town. Explanatory signs in Italian and English. The walk is easy, much of it hard paved steps. The views are spectacular. The plants, trees and occasional small creatures made it a real, relaxing pleasure. A must for a Cefalu visitor. Take some water and a picnic if you want to linger... More

My husband and I are 69 and 59, and I only brought one pair of shoes (with a slight heel) on our trip to Sicily. We went all the way to the top of La Rocca with no trouble at all. It's basically a goat path after a certain point, with a couple of steep areas to step, but really... More

This might be too hot to do in the middle of a summer day, but we climbed it in the winter and it was not too much work. Interesting ruins at the top and some informative explanations in both Italian and English along the way.

La Rocca is the giant mount that overlooks the fantastic town of Cefalu. From the top the view is just simply amazing and has to be seen! We walked to the very top - started at 9am (got there for 7am but the park ranger doesnt open up until 9am!) and after about two and a half hours made it!.......take... More

Very good, although going up and down was quite scary. You walk next to a sheer drop with no barriers in between you and the drop! It has a very nice view from the top, and there were many ruins to visit.

We looked forward to ascending to the top in the clarity of the afternoon sunshine. After getting our ‘passes’ we enjoyed the walk all the way. There were wonderful views over Cefalu, with the Duoma particularly standing out in its full extent. The fortress was fascinating in its expansiveness. The panoramas along the coast and of the deep blue bay... More

Best view from top hill, not sure to the castle, because it was difficult to walk on many stones and climb hills. So to the point telling you --view point on the left and castle on the right, turn left. All what you need to see is there. Nothing to complain, just pity it is not well known and people... More

fantastic views from the top but a gruelling walk to get there. 4 euros to punish yourself but worth it when you get to the top
