If you are visiting Italy and have the opportunity to make it all the way south to Sicily and enjoy a weekend on the beach in Cefalu, do it! This small Sicilian town has so many precious places to get lost in and summer is the best time to see everything. There is local shopping, tons of historical places to... More

Just beautiful. Cefalu is a dream town. Lots of areas for swimming and sunbathing. Some rocky areas. We stayed at Villa Gaia, right across from ocean. They provide beach chairs and towels.

About one hour drive by car from Palermo you will find a small Vilage - Cefalu. Its nice small old town, with a very nice old center and a Cathedral built in Norman style. In the center on the main square you will find some restaurants and caffes, but its better to choose one in the small streets around the... More

After traveling few hours in a car from Palermo ( stay away from this place!!! Terrible!) Cefalu at first moment seemed great. We spent 3 nights here. Beachside was very rocky, pretty dirty, water was cold (end of June), hot stones along the beach (make sure you wear slippers all the time), got annoyed about those intrusive sellers on the... More

Cefalu is 1 hour out of Palermo. It has the beach front with breathtaking sunset views but v it also has the wonderful old town. And the famous Duomo church which is magnificent. Amd a drink in the piazza in front is also very affordable. The children can run around safely as well. Lots of local art and handicrafts and... More

A great day trip from Palermo. Take the train, from Stazione Centrale. Ask which train, as it may be a stop on the way to Roma, or Milano, etc! It's about an hour's journey, but make sure you go early as there may not be many trains, and long gaps after the late morning. Take note of the return times... More

If you're looking for a swinging city with numerous bars and a lively nightlife, don't go to Cefalu'! But if you're looking for a town that has narrow streets, delicious food and quiet afternoons (siesta time), this is the place. Passagiata, the evening walk, is a sight to behold. The people are warm and inviting, once you get to know... More

We visited Cefalu in February, 2015 on a shore excursion on a cruise stop in Palermo. It is about an hour ride from Palermo. Truly worth the ride. It is a very charming quaint fishing village. It was pouring rain when we went but it made it all the more charming with the brick streets glowing from the rain. Nice... More
