Not always open!

We were getting excited about this but found it was only open June to September so we missed out. Looked impressive though!

Disappointed to find the cable car has closed, quote from ticket station man "end, finished" doesn't look likely to open again any time soon! Castellammare di Stabia it self looked very run down so would avoid.

Went to day with anticipation. Apparently according to train station man - "not worked for two years ...... Work in progress" however, the town is pretty enough for a stroll along prom. Looks like more prom life at night for eateries.

We visited in May 2014 and the cable car was closed. There did not seem to be any work going on so I don't think it will be opening any time soon. If you want to visit Monte Faito you can get a bus from the train station at Vico Equense. In May the bus is at 9am. (I think... More

We travelled to Castellammare di Stabia on the circumvesuviana railway in order to go on the cable car. Our hotel had phoned the evening before to check it was open, and had printed a time-table for us off their web site. But despite all the information available, when we got there we found that the cable-car is closed until 2014.... More

Despite it still being shown on the train directory as an attraction the cable cars are covered in dust. Shame no one told us before we made the effort to get there from Sorrento.

Not much more to say really. You can drive to the top from Vico Equense and the views are spectacular, but the able car would be much easier

The funivia is just excellent and well worth a visit. The first day was too windy and it was closed. But i was so delighted we went back as it is wonderful.

Well worth the trip in a cable car up to the top and then walk down to the Hotel cafe with a fine view towards Sorrento.
