This is a must see attraction in Agrigento. It took us only an hour to go around all the temples. Be certain that it is extremely hot and one should carry plenty of water.

Be sure to visit the museum of archeology before you see the Valley of temples and especially the Temple of Olympian Zeus. There is a model of what this temple would have been if it still existed. And you can see one of the huge statues inside... Just try to imagine the temple with the size of the statue !

Visiting this site reminded me all I learn in school about Greek mythology... So interesting! Make sure you read about the history and the Greek mythology before you visit this site, so it makes sense to you and you appreciate it more!

This one is the biggest at the VOT but you can walk in and around this huge construction undertaken 2 millinea ago. You have to use a lot of your imagination. Am glad we saw this in October when weather was much more cooperative and less tiring.

The temple is described as one of the biggest ever built, and you get the feeling that it was huge. The recorded information was invaluable in describing what we were looking at.

The Temple of Olympian Zeus is massive, covering an area large enough to contain a football stadium for 42,000 spectators. Remains of the front steps give a good idea... More
