As part of the tour of the valley of the temples we visited the local town of Agrigento. Not a tourist town by any means , so hardly any stuff for tourists. I guess it was to fill in time. We saw how the other half lives and it seems they are quite poor compared with the tourist parts of... More

I can’t say enough about our recent Classic Sicily trip with Gate 1 travel. Our guide Michela was fantastic!! She was warm, informative and made sure that everyone was accommodated at all times. Our driver Salvatore was the best!! And our local guides along the way: Giorgio in Palermo & Cefalu, “Il Professore” in Agrigento, Lara at Mt Etna, Giacomo... More

I recently travel to Sicily with Gate 1 travel. Gate 1 provided us with a Tour Guide who was Outstanding in every respect. He was so knowledgeable regarding this area. We called him the professor as he spoke of these temples as if he was there when they were built. The Guide talked about everything from plants and trees to... More

We arranged our tour with Michele Gallo (note bring Euros as credit cards are not accepted) and had Rino Sabella for our guide. Rino was amazing both with his knowledge of the site and the relationships with other sites and how these sites fit into context historically. Sicily has such an interesting history and the 3 hours we had with... More

Fantastic visit. Yes it was hot, but a gentle stroll and the odd sit under shady trees. One of our group did it with her walking frame, so no one could complain about heat or distance! Every way you looked you saw wonderful temples and great scenery. The skill of the builders and sculptures is amazing. how on earth did... More

We just returned from the Sicily tour and it could not have been better. We had Johnny as our guide, and we could not ask for anyone better. We were always running on time and everything ran very smoothly. The local guides were all amazing and very enthusiastic about the temples and ruins. We had an early flight back to... More

Interesting The valley of temples. Two of them were beautiful : The Temple for Concordia and The Temple for Hera. Especially when they were floodlighted at night

A long walk if you do it all on a hot day as we did. Take a day and do it properly, then it's worth it.
