Millau Bridge and Gorge Du Tarn

Every one who goes to the area must see the Millau Bridge, and if possible have a drive over it too. Amazing piece of engineering.

The Bateliers du Viaduct provide a very intimate boat trip down the Tarn River underneath the Millau Viaduct. There are only 6 people per boat, so it's a very relaxing trip. We visited late in September, so we didn't have an option for an English - language tour. However the Batelier spoke some English and he periodically stopped speaking to... More

We crossed this on a sunny day so it was at its spectacular best and well worth the detour on our trip to do it but the whole Tarn valley area is beautiful and next time we will stay longerthan one night

To see the bridge from below is amazing. It is beautiful and inspiring. The boatman , of course adds to your experience with his enthusiasm and commentary. Ours had good English as well as French for the other four people.

I had considered trying this relatively new attraction for a couple of years now but assumed it would be a very standard quick trip up the river and back cashing in on the Millau Viaduct. However this time I did try it and discovered just how far off the mark I had been. You park in the car park on... More

Amazing views of the viaduct and Peyre village and watching the boat being lifted out of the water for the trip back was entertaining. Guide was very good but it helped that I could understand some French as the others in the boat were French.

We were taken by boat from Creissels to Pleyre down the Tarn River. There were some small rapids which our boat had to be steered through. Half way along our trip we passed under the famous Millau Viaduct. Pleyre is built into the cliffside beside the river. This is a really interesting trip.

The perfect way to enjoy one of the loveliest areas in France while viewing one of the wonders of the modern world. Charming, helpful, knowledgeable and FUN staff. Not to be missed. Well worth the drive and the slight difficulty in getting to the actual site. The Viaduc is a marvel and the boat ride is a pleasant experience.

We travelled in April 2015 from Marseille by train to Montpelier and bus to Millau Bus/Railway Station. We recomend the bus journey over the tablelands as the descending views to the township of Millau are outstanding. Quentin picked us up from the Bus/Railway Station and took us to the landing and our Boatman, Max, provided us with an enjoyable, interesting... More

A great way to see "the other side of the Millau Viaduc". This was very enjoyable boat ride, shooting the rapids (little ones!) seeing the bird life, contrasting the Viaduc with the old village on the river, almost 1000 years apart. Bateliers du Viaduc are very well organised, we had a great capable and informative boatman. The boat ride completed... More
