What a great little gem of a museum this is.Very enjoyable but quite small Re-location of Orpington Library to downtown Orpington has provided Bromley's museum service...

A good hour or so can be spent here and a lot can be learned if you take the trouble to read it all. However there is nothing exciting and no wow factor. Hope the updating in progress will improve this.

Having lived in the bromley area for 5 years, I had never been to the museum before. I mainly went because I wanted to see the lovely old building it is housed in - the priory. So interesting to see such an old building in orpington. It was well laid out - not vast, but enough to have a good... More

It's so Nice to take the kids to a museum which they can A) Learn in and B) Have fun in. They loved trying on all the old Saxon and Tudor costumes. And it's all free!

It's ok but the most interesting stuff (stone age etc) collected by Lord Avebury many years ago, is in the basement and not on public view unless they've done the right thing and donated it to the British Museum.

I am a huge fan, totally biased and why not. Most of the priory we see today is over 500 years old with some of it going back to the 13th Century. Not wanting to give a history lesson but the Elizabethan parts of the building are in exceptional condition. The Priory hosts the Bromley Museum. You get two for... More

Bromley Museum is a good place to spend half an hour (or possibly an hour) with the children on a wet day. Set in a Medieval 'Priory' which is actually a 'Rectory', the museum is housed in an attractive setting detached from the bustle of Orpington High Street. Re-location of Orpington Library to downtown Orpington has provided Bromley's museum service... More

Very enjoyable but quite small. Great exhibits... Well worth a visit. Parking not always easy, but worth the effort.

What a great little gem of a museum this is. We were surprised with the depth of history of the area, dating back to prehistory - did you know a mammoth was unearthed in Green Street Green? We were especially fascinated with the map showing where bombs fell during WWII - including right near our house. The museum is housed... More
